  • 200X What was your first impression of the MYP cartoon?

What was your first impression of the MYP cartoon when it premiered on TV? Did you like the new (yet familiar) take on the popular 80s characters? I personally loved the new series, and felt it was a great update of the classic He-Man story. I would have loved to have seen a 3rd season, and the return of Hordak.

I really enjoyed the series. Would have loved for it to have continued for a 3rd season too.

First impression on local tv? 'God that's horribly dubbed!'
I would still buy the infamous Stick-Man in all other lines but Classics

I didn't like it at first. I couldn't get past that ugly sword. I continued to watch it, because it was MOTU after all. Eventually it grew on me. I would have liked a third season.

Loved the opening credits. Comes off all quiet & gentle then KABOOM! Here comes Skeletor & his minions ready for battle. I thoroughly enjoyed the entire MYP cartoon. I'm with you guys in that I also wanted a third season. It was too good of a series that ended way too soon.

I thought the opening was hilarious, when Adam was just about to say "Fabulous secret powers". I was a little annoyed at some of the stylistic choices (Castle Grayskull, He-Man's harness, etc) but the show was good enough that I stopped caring about that.

While I wasn't a fan of some of the design and style choices (I didn't care for the Techno Sword at all) I did really enjoy the way the stories were told. I was beyond ticked that the series ended before we got a proper season with the Horde. That "Powers of Grayskull" showed soo much opportunity! Some of the things that have been revealed by the writers about the third season would've been awesome (Faker doing away with King Randor, Skeletor turning the people of Eternia against He-man and the heroic warriors (I'll never call them "The Masters"), all of it would've really been good stuff.

To be honest, I didn't like it the first time I saw it. But years later for whatever reason, I decided to give it another chance so I bought the DVDs when BCI released them and I'm glad I did. I quite enjoyed the series and it's a shame it didn't last longer than it did.

                  Chris here...

I remember seeing it for the first time and loving it, and still do really enjoy it! It's not better than the Filmation series for me (which just had more "heart", for want of a better word), but it is a fine cartoon series with great animation and some great stories!

                  Take care...

                    This. Is. GLORIOUS!

Seriously, I was excited about the 200X cartoon from the first preview clip. But I think what really sold me on it was that bit in "The Beginning, Part I" where Skeletor mentions "a coridite crystal from the Sea of Rakash." That told me that the people doing this knew the old stuff and respected it, even if there were differences.
