The World Cup is on, any soccer fans around?... *Spoiler Alert*

I'm wondering if I'm in the minority here when it comes to the real sport of "football"... Probably as you already know by now, the biggest single sport tournament in the world has started today with its first match between Brazil and Croatia, and it will continue until July 13th.
We have eight groups of competing teams, and each group consists of four teams, totaling in 32 teams representing 32 countries... So if you are interested, I'll try my best to keep you updated with the results in this very original post whenever I can.

Although I come from an Armenian and Greek ethnic backgrounds, Argentina remains to this day my favorite national soccer/football team since I was a kid while playing sports, so naturally I'll be vowing for them. That being said, I'm still a neutralized American citizen and USA and Greece will have my support as well despite their history and achievements in this sport.

Huge soccer fan here. I've got some German blood in me (my dad came from there), so I always cheer for Germany (especially since Canada will never have a decent team).
But I'll cheer on any team who tries to actually score goals, instead of trying to win 1-0 by flopping around in the 18 yard box.

Germany has always been a very strong contender, and their start up group is somehow challenging especially knowing Portugal is right up there with them.
Aside from my favorite team, I usually go for the underdog myself...

I must add here, the game between Spain and Holland/Netherlands was a historic one, seeing the world champions getting destroyed like that (5-1) by the Dutch in their first game of the current FIFA tournament was unprecedented according to the sport commentators! Wow what a game!

I just hope the rest of the world cup will entertain us with more epic surprises and upsets in a similar manner! :manefaces:

Another major upset has just happened, Costa Rica beats the great team of Uruguay 3-1, a history in the making for the Costa-Rican fans for sure!

Holland looking pretty impressive,but remember Spain got beat 1-0 by Switzerland in South Africa and then blew the rest of the teams away.
Yeah the mighty Costa Rica are back,i remember them beating Scotland all those years ago and i do have a weak spot when it comes to Germany b/c they do play some good football.

Agreed... So far the tournament hasn't been boring, actually more like exciting, but still, there is a long way to go, and we'll see how the none south american teams will adapt to the high humidity and the casual rain!

A huge game for Germany today, and what a nightmare for the Portuguese and their fans!... And definitely another huge game for the USA after beating Ghana 2-1! Wow, what an interesting world cup day to witness!

Wow, the world champions (Spain) are out of the tournament and have been eliminated by the Chileans, a history in the making because Chile has never won a game before against the Spaniards!

Even though I was cheering for Uruguay against Italy yesterday, I hope FIFA throws the book at Suarez for biting.... and the BS play acting he did after the biting incident.

That's why they nicknamed Suarez the cannibal at one point! Yep, that was a disgusting move by him although I was also cheering for Uruguay... It'll be interesting to see what FIFA would do, although they've become a corrupt organization themselves!

Regardless, many major players are already out of the tournament, and some of those unpredictable turnouts make things even more exciting like Greece for example! Today and tomorrow should have some interesting events to look forward to as well, then afterwards the real bloodbath should start in the next round. Hehehehe...

I thought it's going to be a tough one for the brazilians after Neymar and Silva were out, but witnessing that kind of devastation was beyond everyone's imagination! That was a history in the making that will probably haunt the brazilians for the next 50 years!!!

I did say i fancied Germany for the cup,but how lucky was their keeper to stay on the park,high knee is always dangerous play.
But well done,now the mighty Scotland is next up in Septembers Euro Qualifiers.

Congrats on the win, but it was a little tough for me by watching my favorite team losing during the last minutes in the extra time with a single goal difference after battling it through for a whole month! However, Germany in the end had more energy and a much better composure and tactics.

I blame a big portion of the loss on the coach though, he took out some of the key players out (9, 22) without leading the game with a goal or having serious injuries! You just ****ing don't do that in the final game, you just don't!!! What a ****ing idiot! He could've at least gambled a little by letting a big player like Angel Di Maria (7) play in the extra time!
