Definitely one of the best ever. I've listened to this soundtrack countless times and I think it's pretty safe to say that I'll never get sick of it. Pure '80s and pure awesome.

I find it incredible, due to guitar solo ridiculousness, that this soundtrack has stood the tests of time and is still relevant. I wish I could still find the remix/mash-ups I downloaded from Napster back in the day.

Now I should be taken to the dungeon for forgetting this one, BUT one soundtrack which I think truly encapsulated the movie it was made for (and yes that each song and track was written specifically for the movie and not just a mixed CD of current trendy songs added to a movie as most are these days [with the exception of The Crow BOTH soundtrack and score]) is:

The Transformers: Original Motion Picture Soundtrack (1986)

I definitely would say Scores are my top but as for one to pick right now... OH boy I may get real 'heat' for this...

    Kiss: Music of the Elder.

PLEASE hear me out the reason why is I can relate a few of the songs to MOTU and here are the ones that really make my case (give them a hear or even read the lyrics and you can see why):
The Oath, Just a Boy, Under The Rose, A World Without Heroes & Odyssey; I'd say these songs can give you that MOTU fantasy, epic vibe...

agreed. I went to a wedding like 5 years ago and the bride/groom first song was from this soundtrack.

Too many to list, but if I need to pick up one right now, I'd go with The Dark Crystal by Trevor Jones.
