Lucasfilm announced this morning that their first film in the new standalone Star Wars series, Rogue One, has begun principal photography. Director Gareth Edwards (Godzilla) is directing Rogue One, which tells the story of resistance fighters who have united to steal plans to the dreaded Death Star. The film takes place before the events of Star Wars: A New Hope. The film is slated for a December 16, 2016 release.

I just watched it, and it definitely is one of the better ones from this franchise. It really deserves another screening, but without the 3D gimmicky garbage they keep forcing on us, just way too many blurry and unfocused shots with this unrefined conversion!
It also packs too many details to look for, and some unclear dialogue phrases especially during the last act. I guess when it comes out on Blu-Ray/Digital, I'd be pausing and rewinding the heck out of it!
Im my opinion it ranks somewhere between the Empire Strikes Back and the Return of the Jedi, even though there weren't any Light Saber duel or a Millennium Falcon goodness!
