  • Coming Soon: Mortal Kombat 5.5" Action Figures from Funko!

The popular video game franchise Mortal Kombat is the latest to join Funko Action Figures! These fully articulated figures, made in a retro style similar to the original Masters of the Universe action figures, stand roughly 5.5" inches tall. Each figure comes with awesome weapon accessories!

    The first assortment includes:
    • Scorpion
    • Sub-Zero
    • Raiden
    • Kitana
    • Liu Kang

They are currently scheduled for release from Funko in January 2018!

Funko made the cool retro Zorn figure last year. I think they would do an awesome job making Masters of the Universe figures.

I like what I see here and certainly the details on these are great, however I only can see 5-6 points of articulations, so I won't consider these "fully articulated" as stated above!

If Super7, or the 4HM or even Funko decided one day to resurrect the 5.5 MOTU vintage line with such updated details with a couple of extra articulated joints like (the wrests for instant), and release most of the vehicles, beasts, giants and the playsets, and what have you in waves like the old days, I'll defiantly consider the investment...

Fully articulated to retro 80s standards.

Hmm, but I still remember the 3.75" Spiderman, and GI Joe figures from the 80's had more articulations than that!

Not bad looking figures. Their arms are a bit further apart than the He-Man figures were, but overall, they have a nice MOTU look.

Kitana would look great on display with the original Teela and Evil-Lyn.

These figures look more impressive to me than the "retro" figures that Super7 have been showing at conventions (Hordak, She-Ra, He-Man, Skeletor and He-Ro). Considering that Funko already makes MOTU toys, maybe Mattel should give them a licence to make retro action figures too. The paint apps and plastic being used by Funko look far better than what Super7 has been showing. These Mortal Kombat toys have the power!

Original MK designs would look better. Maybe if they were sculpted more like a vintage MOTU.
