  • Shows you recommend

I have been binge watching Heels, Welcome to Flatch, and rewatching Cobra Kai. Not sure if they're anyone's cup of tea but Cobra Kai is about to start its final season.

So what do you recommend for Andy to watch?

Are you talking about new shows or it doesn't matter?... I barely watch new shows these days, sorry.

If you like animated fantasy and Sci-Fi on Netflix, I'd recommend the "somehow old" Dragon Prince (they have a new season), the Dark Crystal Age of Resistance, Transformers War for Cybertron Trilogy, Voltron and Arcane, they aren't perfect by any means, by they have amazing animation, compelling stories and great music.

I can recommend (or not recommend) all kind of shows to check out, but they're oldish and probably you're seen them already.

Any. It doesn't matter really. Just getting board with YouTube and I don't have cable. Have Hulu, Netflix, Disney, and Amazon. I can't watch My Name is Earl on repeat forever.

For newerish stuff, I've been watching Tacoma FD and Reservation Dogs

I have enough DVDs and capabilities to upload them so who knows maybe I'll do my own streaming channel someday. Actually just got a bunch of old cartoons like Samurai Pizza Cats, Laff-a-lympics, and Extreme Dinosaurs that I'm already starting on..now I'm looking into a few options like QuasiTV for AndroidTV, and Plex to decide if it's even worth it to put them online instead of carrying around my flashdrive all of the time

      BTW thanks for the suggestions.

I'm intrigued with your collection now Andy. If you ever start your own channel without getting any copy right strikes, let me know...

I have to check my list of some of the shows that I've watched (they're mostly, fantasy or sci-fi) before I mention some of them here. However they're not necessary good; a bunch of them start being interesting and then they become trash.

God if I listed all the TV series I have it would be over fifty and probably close to a hundred or more..

Good finds for good prices at Goodwill.

Movies I usually buy the digital copy just to have in the cloud and take it anywhere.

I'm still checking into the streaming deal so when I make a decision I'll PM you if I'm able to share.

Also you're right about most shows (newer ones anyway) turning into garbage or pale comparisons of what they once were.

I forgot I also have peacock and just watched Twisted Metal twice. Cheesy goodness both times I watched it with very little to no wokeness.

I have Peacock as well but mostly for sports, is Twisted Metal that good?

Well, it's cheesy good. I watched it and I liked it enough then I watched YouTube for the Easter eggs and rewatched it and still liked it. It's not horrible, there's enough action and jokes or gags or whatever but it's not great poetry either. It's just a decent series and I wouldn't throw tomatoes at it. Definitely looking forward to a series 2.

Haha, that looks worth checking out; when I have the mood for it... The writing reminds a little of the Naked Gun franchise.

I was quite shocked to see Cobra Kai go from using comical methods like switching scenes before a vulgar word was finished, to actually saying the "M-F" term right on screen. Like the old saying, "Never meet your heroes", that's certainly the case here, for I'm disappointed that the cast went along with it.

As for the main topic... off-hand, I can't think of any particularly good new shows I've seen. I probably get more enjoyment (and a healthier message) out of all the oldies now on broadcast TV.

They don't make them like they used too. BJ and the Bear and Rockford Files were great shows. Recently rewatched some Air Wolf and it still holds up.

          Thanks for the suggestions 1F

If you guys wanna list late 70's and 80's shows, there are a TON of them I've enjoyed during and after the've aired.

Andy, Air Wolf was so cool and one of my personal favorites.

Quincy, M.E. -- not exactly action-packed, but in small doses I just can't take my eyes off it. Similarly, Kojak. Both have a down-to-earth feel.

I think the key might be watching just an episode or three per week, rather than bingeing.

Star Wars: Andor is a fantastic show. It's a slow burn and builds up steam with each episode. It is the only Star Wars "Disney" show I enjoy. Ties in with Rogue One: A Star Wars Story.

Andor was just too slow for me despite the great acting, I'll still watch the next season/s but the first season wasn't as good as the Rogue One movie which ultimately was its conclusion and probably the best out of all the Disney made Star Wars saga!

Thanks for the mention BZ. I haven't watched Andor yet. I started to but it was slow paced so I decided to binge it after the season and just haven't gotten around to it yet. Almost forgot about it actually so thanks again for reminding me

I enjoyed Andor. I agree that is started slow but after episode 3 everything moves at a brisk pace. The prison episodes are among the best TV that I've watched in years. It is definitely Star Wars for adults. What I enjoyed the most is that it actually shows how the Empire operates, and what leads to a democracy becoming a fascist state.

I'm going to suggest "All of us are Dead" for Zombie fans. Korea makes way better Zombie cinema than America IMO. (Well, this and Train to Busan are better than Walking Dead and Last of Us)

If you like Korean production, watch the movie Space Sweepers if you’re into Sci-fi as I am. It’s like a comic book type of fun.
