Just got back from Kentucky, shooting for Daniel's new film: FALL OF GRAYSKULL.

    Guess who I'm playing:

And if you were at the last Power Con, you may have seen the Skeletor costume (designed and fabricated by Aime-Lance Jaze Cosplay)

*edit* And we've got the very talented professional wrestler and bodybuilder, Brian Cage as He-Man (his costume finally revealed!):

Awesome! Daniel has a lot of post-production, effects, and editing to do, and with him having a day job, it's going to be a long time before we finally see the film; he estimates the end of 2015, but when the time comes, we'll be looking at venues to premiere it (hopefully on the big screen in a couple locations). Until then, updates may be sparse, but I'll at least make an effort to touch bases with fans. Hopefully keep the buzz going!

In the meantime, I'll answer any questions I can about the shoot, so what do you want to know?
(no details on the script or pictures of any as-yet unseen costumes, though)

Whoa, until the end 2015?!!!... But that's how things go I guess when you have other commitments.
I have a question though, is Skeletor going to make an appearance battling He-Man?

Well, He-Man and Skeletor are both in the film, and I think fans will be delighted with the way they're portrayed in this conflict.

Yeah, Daniel plans to film scenes with her for the next ten years, so we can see Despara/Adora's radical transformation as we watch her grow up.

Just kidding of course; I was kind of making fun of Stanley Kubrick's original concept for A.I., where he was going to do exactly that: use the same child actor over a ten-year period* to give us a film with the longest production in history.

              * Apparently, Richard Linklater has actually taken this idea and made the film 'Boyhood' over a 12 year period.

That Shadow Weaver costume was put together by Daniel Benedict himself with the help of the indispensable Casi Clark. I love the design and execution, and was happy that I had one less costume to make!

Interesting take on Evil-Lyn's iconic look, although the make-up bleeding down the face does take away from the overall impact. Just a little.

                                  Well done still.

Yeah, I think that even though her look is somewhat of a departure from the various sources, it contains a good blend of different ones: the color scheme of the 200X version, with the boob horns of the original toy, the butt-cape and headdress are even reminiscent of her design for the proposed Son of He-Man series. The crazy-chick make-up is the only element that we've never really seen for Lyn, but I think most would agree that it's a believable step for her character, and I think people will enjoy Ally Hendrick's portrayal of the mistress of dark magic.

Daniel has revealed another great screencap of Brian Cage as He-Man; check out the intensity in his eyes!

Thanks! "Perfect" is what we were going for, haha. Regarding Columbia's impending official movie: I was doing my best to prepare for it being a Michael-Bay-like disastrophe of cinema (if it ever got made at all, considering the decade-plus that it's been in pre-production), but after hearing Jeff Wadlow talk about it on the latest Roast Gooble Dinner, I think it may be in good hands, and while I'm sure there will be fans who disagree with some of the elements, I think the film will probably end up being pretty good. I may like Fall of Grayskull better too, but I'm probably a bit biased.

To help promote Fall of Grayskull and give fans somewhat of a sense of the tone of his film, Daniel will be releasing bios of the featured characters, and the first one is... me of course!

I would've loved to have Fisto. Maybe if Sony sees this film, they'll throw a bunch of money at Daniel and say "Make an official movie for us!" and then we could have a bigger cast. As for size: I'm probably the smallest Eternian on the planet, and people seem to be OK with it anyway.
