  • "Masters" by Chris Faccone

Check out this stunning new MOTU-inspired artwork by Chris Faccone.

During this piece I pulled inspiration from Conan. I wanted to match the same intensity I see when reading the old Marvel comics that John Buscema illustrated. Conan always acted like a wild tiger when in battle, but you never knew if he was going to win or not. You just knew he would do whatever it would take to survive. In my piece, I envisioned He-Man facing Skeletor ready to strike, then out of nowhere, Mer-Man sneaks up behind He-Man catching him off balance. I enjoyed the early MOTU mini-comics because sometimes characters like Mer-Man would get one over on He-Man. I don’t like when a character is too powerful because you know he is always going to win and there is no danger.

The color choices on this piece are well thought out. Simply beautiful.

I love this art. Great style and color as Mech points out

That is really cool. Looks like art from the 60s or 70s.
