He-Man and the Masters of the Universe #18

From what I've been seeing and hearing about this new comic story line, I think its safe to say that any previous loyalties from existing mythos have to be shed to fully enjoy them. The creators seem to be doing their own thing, and the artwork is lovely.

As for Skeletors mom? Seriously? So now the Overlord of Evil, the single most powerful mystical threat to Eternia has a mommy and (as some Kool-Aid drinkers would have it) a tween son with a mask and a guitar? This is starting to seem less like MOTUC and more like Full House.

I'm speaking purely from a knee jerk reaction.

Really bad decision to make Skeletor's mom a semi immortal demon... Lame. And He-Ro now is the son of KG and Veena? F' I really am a fan of this character and he out of all MOTU characters has continuously gotten dumped for the sake of cheaper storylines IMO. I know it's different from all other canons but UGH, this puts Keldor now a STEP-Brother rather than a true nuclear one.
