It looks like Goddess/Teela is in charge of the Snake Men. That was actually an idea that I believe Emiliano (and Val?) came up with in their 2002 days of producing the comic book. Essentially Teela first turns green when Snake Face tries to turn her to stone. It activates some kind of latent power within her. Then she uses her power to redeem the snake men and have them fight for good.

I bet the story comes out of the bible they handed over to Toy Guru.

Wow, they really did take the old MV Creations Bible ideas. No wonder Toy Guru freaked out when they started sharing those ideas on Roast Gooble Dinner

Yep, looking forward to this. Bonus that the cover is done by one whos art and style is so enjoyable, and does some rather wonderful comics on his own.

I like that they are pulling from ALL old canons. And looking with a new perspective. From 2002 toon ideas (Hordak conquering Eternia, Masters as Renegades) to Filmation elements sprinkled, and then their own direction.

Thank GOD they are not going the same continuity as MOTUC. I would not have liked that.

Take a look at the upper right hand corner of the second panel in either one of the preview posts.

Ok this first issue was OK. I have to take back a comment I made about Abnett talking total writing duties as he still seems to be working off someone's story but it's OK. There is one major WTF moment but I guess considering the circumstances there will be a lot of 'Sword' playing coming up now with that latest concept. And I dig Pop's art but WTF is up with that last panel???

these comics are truly a mess. man-at-arms without his armor, basically a weak human, an old man can somehow fight off 4 snakemen. that was so stupid i couldn't stop rolling my eyes. i'm also tired of them constantly introducing new concepts & "secrets." there is already enough history, show me more fight scenes & less exposition. seeing the classic sorceress made the re-designs start to bug me too. there better be a DC comics toyline coming in 2016. i had the goddess be the leader of the snakemen when i was a kid so i'm ok with that. & i liked seeing loo-kee in there.:twobad:
