    Nah.

This warrior was an aid and General, to be sure. Brave, pure, and steady of mind. The battles waged on - with this hero making the ultimate sacrifice.

As he came to the aid of a young King Grayskull, and fought valiantly to protect his King, he was struck by a lethal blow. The Sorceress, unable to heal such a deadly wound (be creative, anything overly terrifying), told him he could still protect his young King - and their future.
His essence would be used to imbue a companion with strength, wisdom, and courage beyond the likes their world had ever seen. He would be a symbol beside those that stand for all that is good in Eternia, a partner in those times when all others are lost.

... Hopefully something like that would be less generic - plus show that the whole 'defender of Eternia' role could evolve if the need required it. Maybe his name COULD have been 'Battle Cat', with Cringer adopting the persona and taking the name since he would be so... well, cowardly. It would be easy for the old generals personality to show through a bit. Subconscious influence or some shiz.

EDIT: As I am tired and brain is kinda bouncing all over the place, was not trying to make it sound like your idea was generic or anything - the original 'history' for Battle Cat Man was my aim. Just bouncing the before written idea here since you already presented one.

The fact that this clown has been canned since December, but he is still attempting to ruin this franchise, is frustrating.
Still attempting?!! TG ensured that his influence on MOTU would still be felt years to come!

What about GiveMeABreak-Man? He might be the answer to our cries!

it's so dumb, battlecat man was made when we were told there would be no beasts or vehicles, so somebody customized one. there was no reason for him to steal that idea. also, those are the most powerful magic beings & this stolen idea is being shoehorned into being one of the most powerful mages??

Why is She-Ra holding a Despara mask? She should be long past that point by now.

Of all the dumb ideas to come along that could be easily repaired with some common sense and originality... I got nothing for this one!

I think I will go with Joe Amato's concept of Battlecat Man (if Scott didn't swipe it from him already) and add my own little flavor to it since Joe also just created another version of Battle CatMan (this one I actually consider him to be Battle Lion humanized).

And here's the basic concept I'm working on:

With Queens Veena's knowledge and ability to transform for human to beast and the Powers Of Grayskull at her disposal, she used the ancient magics to transform Battle Lion (Joe Amato's Battle Catman Version 2) into a Were-cat like creature. This would also possibly explain the early ancient origins of the Quadians as well....

Fast forward to the future and upon He-Man leaving Eternia to pursue Skeletor in space; this would be where the main chunk of Joe's Battle Catman version 1 bio would fit with some tweeks to involve Sorceress Teela and Chief Carnivus somehow. BUT I'm still working on that.

All in all this would be the only way I can make sense of this hit and run idea Scott or even the writer of this book shoehorned in; and if this was ever in the early concepts to happen the wording at the time still was lackluster so there.

JUST A SHAME HE-RO SEEMS TO BE LEFT OUT OF THIS WHOLE THING CONSIDERING HE ACTUALLY CREATED THE DAMN SWORDS!

Maybe he'll have a cameo in the comic, and promptly meet his end at the hands of Hordak in a flashback?

I guess the part that's bothering me is that Battle Cat Man is featured in the limited print, as if they are making him part of the regular characters. Perhaps he's going to be a part of the comic? Who knows? I just think he's lame.

When you said someone Captain, did you mean Mr. Nutlich?

No, I can't see Battle Cat Man ever appearing in a movie. Someone may have wished for it, but I doubt it will ever happen.

Wow. Got to hand it to Neitlich... Just when you think nothing could be as bad as his mary sue project, the time travelling omnipresent Spector, he's got to ruin Battle Cat and make him humanoid...... and if that's not bad enough, he dresses him in one of Ric Flair's hand-me-down robes too.
Haven't we suffered enough of that tool's 'brilliant' ideas??

Without that "awful" cartoon you wouldn't have MOTU today. Without it, MOTU would've been a short time success and in America only.

Wow! Great way to ruin a decent looking group shot. That pic had the potential to be epic.

The humanoid Battle Cat concept is cringe worthy, no pun intended.

as i've been using that term before blue hordak was even announced, i'll keep using it to show my disdain for that awful cartoon.

    "failmation's"

Could you not misuse the term?

"the only person who turns into a cat is catra."

    BTW, that's Filmation's idea too...

seriously, that is fkn moronic. this piece could have been epic(art wise it still is) all the classic characters in one big event but to add that is moronic.

why not randor or king greyskull why a humanoid battlecat

and why am i only noticing the despera mask, that wasnt there before unless im really mistaken

edit: guys i think this is a spoiler for the dc comics, i mean we have the despera mask and that goddess is the "upgraded" teela not the classic

"Battle Cat reimagined as a humanoid shape changer. In his base form, he's an ancient general from King Grayskull's era, now a mentor to a young Prince Adam. When it's time to fight Skeletor, the general dons his enchanted battle helm (which caps his staff) and transforms into the ferocious Battle Cat, Master of War!"
So basically, Battle-Cat Man has the same powers as Catra.

wtf, that is the stupidest thing ever. i hate it even more than failmation's cringer idea. the only person who turns into a cat is catra.:twobad:

if they ever make a figure, in my canon, he'll be a quadian who dresses as battle-cat out of respect & as an homage.
