Official Quarterly Shipping Thread

I have my first quarterly shipment coming to the UK in March and I'm very apprehensive about it. I've just received an email from Mattel informing me that my first shipment is soon. So I thought this thread would be a good idea to share experiences and see if this experiment is a success or another DR-backed disaster! Good luck!

So over on the Org it seems people are indeed having issues with quarterly shipping. What a surprise. My own order is still showing as "In process". Anybody else having trouble?

Hopefully your order will eventually go through. DR is notoriously slow with us Internationals after all.
I just got my shipping notice yesterday, even though a friend of mine in town got his figures Thursday using the same delivery method.
No rhyme or reason at DR, no rhyme or reason.....

Now people who have called DR CS are being told there is a delay as Glimmer is out of stock. This better not be another Fisto. I will go crazy. Ain't putting up with it.

Pathetic... people shouldn't complain though, they already knew things like these would happen.

Everything is a risk with DR though (obviously even more risk with choosing quarterly). If anyone at DR can chew bubblegum and tie their shoes at the same time, I'd be surprised. The only thing they are proficient at is finding new ways to screw up (and perfect their old ways of screwing up). I do sympathize, as I find it hard to chastise someone for trying to save a substantial amount of money on shipping (despite the obvious risks).

I wonder if people really ARE saving any money with shipping by selecting the quarterly option. Neitlich only offered it to give fans more of an option and makes it look like he cares. Since shipping for one figure a month is overpriced, wouldn't a larger, heavier box with multiple items be just as bad?

So far for me it's looking pretty good. Everything shipped Friday for a total of $26.25, which is only $3.40 more than I'd spend each month for shipping when more than a single item ships. So that's roughly $30 saved so far for me & it's only March. But I'm guessing the biggest savings will be for places like Canada, where the Customs aren't as high as the EU, and for some reason our bulk DHL orders are cheaper than the six week 'cheap' shipping option.

I made my feelings known on the mattycollector forums. Then I got this email: "Dear paulioscorchio, Thank you for contacting Matty Collector. Looking over the forums I noticed you had some questions regarding the status of your order. We have confirmed with our warehouse that we have full inventory for all Quarterly figures, and your order is processing normally. Normally our warehouse processes all orders within 3 business days of them receiving the order, due to the number of orders received for this month I would ask that you allow them an additional business day to process your order. Please let me know if your order has not shipped by Wed morning. If we can be of further assistance, please reply to this message. When replying, please be sure to include this and any other pertinent correspondence in your message. Sincerely, Brady O. " Surprised but also quite impressed that somebody is on the ball. Proves that speaking up and taking them to task works. Also interesting to note that he says that all figures are in stock, which goes against what others have been told directly. We'll see what happens next.

Sorry you quarterly subbers are having problems and honestly hope they get resolved in a positive manner. That said, it's always a good idea to prepare for the worst. Don't forget a lot of subbers were told there were plenty of Fistos, too.

Mine came fine in the end. Although I have saved on shipping, the real advantage has been the savings on customs. In 2013 I was charged £20 a month on average. The quarterly box, with 8 items, only cost me £34. Which was nice.

Glad it worked out for you this time. Sad part is many of us will have to go through this same shit all over again in another 3 months. We were lucky this month, who knows about next time. But then we did know before hand we were basically playing Russian roulette with DR. Really though, we all are when dealing with this company.....
