Just read an old post from Mr. N. : Two Bad will have no day of sale in 2014. And there you go. He will have day of sale, just not in 2014, but in 2015.... O.o

Hey, no worries. I'd rather hear someone bring something new to the table, rather than the groupthink. Helps one make rational decisions to hear all sides. Cheers

Thank you. It's nice when one of my posts is appreciated, and I'm not attacked for sharing an honest opinion about the nature of this line and the perceptions of Toyguru's role in these issues.

Sky Runner: For the past year, fans have been paying for Fang Man on the secondary market at jacked up prices, because Mattel told non-subscribers that there would be no DOS for this figure... and now he's on mattycollector.com. If they had put the extra Fang Man figures on sale a few months ago, people would be less angry, but Mattel waiting a year while people were paying sky-high prices for him on eBay is a slap in the face to loyal costumers. People have a right to be upset and vent about this. No one likes to feel like they got ripped off by a company that they support by buying their products. Lets all be respectful to other peoples feelings on this matter.

And in response to that, all I have for you is... I just ordered a Fang Man! Thanks Mattel!

I totally see why someone who subscribed to only get Fang Man would be upset. But how many really subscribed to get just Fang Man, in a year with Jitsu, Ram Man, etc? When Fang Man was announced, lots of fans complained he was too cartoony and that they weren't going to buy him DOS. So when they said "No DOS for Fang Man" it did make some sense... until they announced the Filmation sub was going on sale the same month. Obviously it was a ploy to get more "cherry pickers" (i hate that term) to sub as well.

The problem is they said they were going to make less Fang Man figures because there was no DOS. Clearly this wasn't true, they decided too late in the game I guess and produced a lot of them. And then kept them in the warehouse to sell in 2014 when attention was focused elsewhere. The No-DOS games are only so Matty can save money on DR warehouse costs every year, and hard-sell the sub... for example, Clamp Champ and Two-Bad. I have no problem with them trying to save money, it's when I'm being lied to my face about it that gets me and many others upset. Just say "we don't want to pay warehouse costs anymore." They won't because customers will want the paint apps back, the L/R arms assembled correctly, and no black plastic if they know Mattel is making more money per figure. And why do those things if people are going to buy them anyway to be "completist"? There's no incentive on their end to change.

Stuff like this and Blade's paint apps, Stinkor, etc.- they keep happening because we as fans let it happen. The only way I see to not support that type of behavior is to not subscribe, plain and simple. People hate hearing that but the truth sometimes hurts. Every MOTUC figure sold on Matty.com is another notch in Scott's belt. As Sky Runner says above, they're not "Collector's Items" or "Limited Edition" and not special- no one will care about MOTUC when the next He-Man toy line starts up, and these figures will be like 1990's Star Wars figures are today, not worth anything. If you're collecting this line for monetary profit, I'd cash out now before the bottom completely falls out. Collecting modern toys for profit isn't so smart anyway, for a variety of reasons. If fans let their compulsion to have a "complete collection" outweigh common sense, then it's no surprise when stuff like Fang Man being sold again happens, because subscribing is simply telling Mattel "Shut up and take my money!" You support the lies by buying the figures. People hate hearing that but it's true. Every sub is another "atta boy" to Scott; every Matty.com purchase benefits him.

It sucks that Fang Man was supposed to be exclusive, and is now sold again. But at this point, after so many years of dishonesty, is it any surprise? Of course not. I got into this line knowing the drama and problems, I can't imagine anyone else getting into it since, not knowing all this crap is still going on. If you subbed for Two Bad or Fang Man or Clamp Champ, and didn't look into MOTUC's years of drama and issues, or didn't listen to the dissenting voices in 2013 about it, it's your bad, not Mattel's. You can't get mad at a snake for biting you, it's in their nature to do so. Expect Clamp Champ and Two Bad to return as well.

If you don't like people venting, you are on the wrong board. Maybe you need to take that into account.

I don't see what the big deal is about FangMan turning up for sale. It is no secret that Toyguru and Digital River have a history of misinformation and poor customer service. Now people that want him have a chance to buy him. There is a chance that Two-Bad may show up again.

If you're raw about the fact that you signed up for an 'exclusive' item, and you feel wronged or lied to, maybe you need to take everything over the subsequent 5 years into account and learn a valuable lesson. Mattel doesn't care about your feelings. Do you really think that 'limited' edition $250 bottle of cologne you've been eyeing up is anything special? Nope. What about that "Complete Collector's Edition" DVD set? Nope, not special at all. Next year, WB will release an "Ultra Collector's Fan Choice" Edition.

Mattel wants to sell its product any way it can and make money. If that means discounts, selling left over customer service stock, exclusive gimmicks, unloading product onto discount retailers or offering up Hurricane Hordak for $5 a pop at a tent on the street (which kind of surprised me, but I waited until he was on sale before I bought him) they will do it.

Mattel wants your money, and as long as you're willing to give it to them, they will take it.

You know... it's way easier to try to diminish someone as a "hate monger" than to refute their arguments, which in most cases they can't. How can apologists defend the Stinkor debacle? How can they defend the "skirtgate" or stuffed armor/vest cases among many other problems? How can anyone defend a company that sells you a product and then gives you a lesser quality one because they had to adjust pricing, instead of eating the costs since they were the one's who made the mistake? They can't! That's why they resort to label people as just haters... in hopes that others will dismiss totally legit complaints. Saying that "these are just toys" or "you should be thankfull you're getting them" is exactly the same thing. A dirty strategy of pure damage control...

I said it before and I'll say it again, sure sometimes people's complaints get over the top, and many times they focus on unreasonable little details, but that doesn't invalidate all the legit complaints. Trying to invalidate the legit issues by focusing on superficial silliness is just as dishonest as Matty/Mattel/***guru trying to paint a picture that everything's perfect while costumers continue to get screwed...

That's why I sometimes find the constant apologists are a lot worse than Neitlich himself. TG is a professional liar and he's after your money and the glorified recognition that he doesn't deserve, but those apologists are the ones who keep protecting him and allowing him to continue spreading his filth and to rob people's money and kill their passion, and all for what, so they can get their favorite characters before the line dies?!!! Screw them all...

About customer service stock... I had a defective Snout Spout and last year (or maybe it was 2012) I asked for a replacement and was told NO, they would give me my money back. I said that wasn't good enough, I wanted a replacement figure and was told there were absolutely NONE to be given, so the ONLY thing they could do was give me my money back. They proceeded to give me my money, and I proceeded to fix my defective Snout Spout.

Now wait for it, cuz this is the part that pisses me off beyond belief...

Two months later, Snout Spout was on sale in the Black Friday blowout sale!!!!

    LIARS!!

NA He-Man also benefits from the new wrist that customizers would want for regular He-Man. I agree that Fang-Man probably has lots of figs left due to shorting him last year to help sell Filmation subs.

With NA He-Man, I suspect a lot of people who had got him the first time went and bought a second one for his space armour look. He is essentially two figures in one.

So, Na He-Man's customer service stock was sold out after 20 minutes, despite the fact that NA figures always sell worse- and the customer service stock of Fang Man, who was sub only and therefore produced in lower quantity (with lower quantity customer service stock) is still available after one day? And now think about the fact that you paid 55$ for a 25$ figure on Ebay. So the demand for this figure must have vanished since then. Yeah, sure.

Do you really think these are only "customer service" figures!? It's because of people who are willing to accept these BS moves/excuses that this line is so crappy when compared to other real adult collector action figure lines.
