  • Would you buy 5 inch He-Man Action Figures?

If Mattel decided after 2015 to restart the line afresh and call it... He-Man Classics, say, which would be a new line of 5" fully articulated G.I.Joe type line of figures and vehicles... Would you buy any of the figures? Let's say wave 1 consists of He-Man, Stratos, Skeletor, Merman and Wave 2 was She-Ra, Glimmer, Hordak, Mantenna, for example...

Maybe. Depends on all sorts of things.

No. Why on earth would they do something like that? If they re-released the vintage line again I'd buy all the figures to have them new. That's about it.

I think that would be the best way to go. Also a good way to get the figures we never had as kids, made in the 80s style (Marlena, Fearless Photog, Keldor, etc).

Probably I'd just invest in the vehicles and the playsets without the figures!...
I mean if they're going to be the same figures, what's the point?! Unless of course if they introduce unreleased figures like the 200X ABC giants and stuff like that, I might buy those too.

          Don't you mean a 4" line?

I don't think I would. After Classics, the only thing that would get me to collect MOTU again is if Mattel offered me something that I didn't have before, such as new designs that I would like. It isn't about hatred for Mattel or DR, but more about Classics delivering the figures I wanted. I doubt that we'll ever get a MOTU line this comprehensive again. Some of these characters might never been seen again.

            That's what I thought too, probably he meant the 4" scale, cause is/was there a 6" G.I.-Joe?

Absolutely not. Even if the current line ended today, incomplete, it is more than enough. And, though I know at least some of you are sick of hearing it, the current line ends this year for me regardless of if it goes on or not.

Perhaps. Honestly it would depend on price point and availability New style, like 200X or future movie? Super deformed like vinyl animated? Are we talking retail or subsections? Eh...I have costly holes in both my vintage and MOTUC collections, and dispite having all of the figures, our 200X collections can never be complete...so I can see this...Smaller sized with vehicles and plasets is exactly what I want, that is why I love Imanginext more then Hot Toys or $300+ statues. I'm just a 32 year old child who enjoys playing with toys...*Said with a sense of pride, cause imma Toys R Us kid

Digital River HELL NO! Not even if they Mattel hired me and said "you could be brand manager and dictate your personal canon/characters" the price would be too high!

I'm all in for a true "Adult Collector" MOTU line, in the vein of Figma or Figuarts, with beautiful sculpts, great articulation, tons of accessories and a fair price. Oh... and without Toyguru/Rueben ruining the show.

I'm a big fan of the current MOTUC size, but something like this down the road would be fine. Smaller figures take up less shelf space too, which is always a plus.

Depending on how well executed, yes. Something that looked very similar to the vintage line but with a bit better paint and a couple more articulation points would be cool.

                    no absolutely not.

i honestly don't understand the obsession some people have with buying the same character 10 millions times.

a 4" Retail MOTU line by Mattel? 97% chance of me not getting it. Hasbro is king at that scale and Mattel doesn't even come close. If it was on Matty? HELL NO! Digital River's high Shipping and Handling costs would make the most likely to be overpriced figure even MORE expensive.

It all depends on the quality of the action figures. If I don't like the look and style, I won't buy them. If they rock, I will.

There would be no way I'd start another collection of these characters. The only reason I buy any of the Classics line is because they are close enough in scale to fit with my 200X collection.

I can honestly say I would not buy them for myself. Now if my son showed an interest in them I might get some for him, but they'd have to be at retail. There's no chance of me ever dealing with Digital River again after Classics style is done.
