  • Battle Lion

So the Battle Lion goes on sale this month. What do you guys think of the idea and the design? Will you be getting one or more as day-of sale?

To me it's a expensive and boring figure. Unfortunately it's already being offered way below the purchase price I have to pay, so I'll keep him. He'll be repainted to be my Anti Battlecat and standing right next to Anti Orko (UNO). Anti Eternia is my way to deal with unwanted figures.

I like the lion sculpt, it's the 4HM after all. I don't think the figure is as impactfull as it could be, mainly because of the lack of size.

Never had any connection to the character though, I'm yet to check the 200X animated series. So while it won't be in my collection I'm happy for the guys who wanted it and will be getting it.

I'll be getting him through my sub regardless of what I think of him. I might buy a second one when he is discounted to make a 200X Battle-Cat down the road.

Same here! I actually have a deal worked out with someone who was selling some figures (and preselling some that aren't out yet) over on he-man.org for an extra one. I'm also getting an extra Flogg from him to have an extra Filmation Power Sword.

I like him, and am seriously considering a second to make MYP Battle Cat.

Well, I will most likely have second one and will be looking to trade him.

I thought Battle Lion had been postponed to June ? I read and heard it somewhere...

But now, Mattycollector announces Battle Lion for May... Another Matty blunder ?

I remember reading that Battle Lion had been postponed as well, but I don't believe it actually came from Matty - I just don't remember where it did come from. In any case, the schedules have shifted before, and will again - it is quite literally the least of the problems with this line.

Not a huge fan of the 200X style battle armor, not really a fan of the 200X series at all even though I enjoyed the animated show, but it looks pretty cool regardless. I'll probably pick it up.

Just the one from my sub. I'm glad the armor can be switched to get a 200X Battle Cat, but I won't spend the money on a second BL just for the second armor to make the swap permanent.

I'm a fan of the cats in this line. I think he looks great. I just wish those red shields were removable, so that other figures could use them as weapons.

The lion head sculpt is great. Nothing will get me to like that 200x armor though. And the lack of a contrasting color (like BC's orange stripes) makes the figure a little boring. Still, pretty cool. Not something I'm going to buy, though.

I absolutely hate this figure. Such a waste of plastic. This before Stridor? You've got to be kidding me.

If we get Stridor eventually will it really matter who came when? I'm more bugged that we haven't (and most likely wont...) be getting Sprit.

Just got my sub shipment in last night and decided to go with a review of Battle Lion first. http://www.thepicreview.com/2014/05/...lion-from.html

I like the figure. He doesn't set the world on fire, but that sculpt is just fantastic. The new head looks great and I'm more tempted to display him without his mask to show it off more.

Meh ok, needed to get a beast out there and with all the tooling going to the figures, Stridor was never a reality (maybe next year?) But hey at least King Grayskull has his ride and I can have an extra Ultimate Battleground Armor Battle Cat option.

I like the head but that's about it. The figures body just seems disproportionate quality-wise. If I did end up buying this I believe that I'd just bury it in the back of my collection.

It might be boring, but that is MYP fault, not Mattel. While I prefer He-Ro riding on a Turbodactyle for it's visual distinctiveness, I do not hate King Grayskull and his Battle Lion. I very much like MYP a lot. I'm glad to have him. Being a bigger fan of vintage, I was amazed at how much I liked having MYP style Battlecat & He-Man. The all era's inclusiveness and interchangeability is one of Classics greatest strengths. Bring on Veena, Oracle, Horde Shadow wraiths and EVERY LAST CHARACTER from that one episode as imperfect as it is, it still rocks! :-D

I do kind of want some rocket launchers on this bad boy...

THEY ARE! OMG HOW COOL. Granted they pop off at the spike, but a little creativity a handle could be made so they COULD be used as shields.

That might make me actually value this figure. Maybe I'll paint mine pink.
