Top 5 Beasts that you want

As with most topics on this board, I will expect a little Scoot bashing to appear in this thread, but I ask that you try to refrain from it and keep it on topic. We have gotten a few over sized figures in this line, and some of them with mixed reception. While I understand Mattel's cost saving methodology, and the apparent demand for Battle Lion (even though for me he was utterly boring and the Griffon was the best reuse of the Battle-Cat/Panthor parts), I was hoping the esteemed ToyScrewYou would really blow us away with beast releases, pulling from the vast universe of MOTU.

When I heard about how beasts were going to be worked into the line, I really expected epic monsters and eye popping left field fan pleasers. The Shadow Beast was a nice start. Gygor was kind of cool, and I kind of still want one, but his reception was lukewarm. Both the Griffon and Granamyr were perfect, and I'm happy to say that I own some of these, however there are still a few desirable I don't foresee us getting. I wish I could melt down all the Star Sisters, Mo-Larrs sets, and Fighting Foe Men and produce the following.

Battle Bones would be cool, they could just retool the 200X one. I loved the techno bits they added to his design. that would fit in with Classics very well!

I would take Tyrantisaurus and Bionotops if the visual updates were impressive. Personally, I didn't want either of them as a kid, since I was collecting Dino-Riders, and well, these MOTU dinosaurs were inferior in every way.

My vision of Bionatops would have He-man either saddled on his back, or perched in a really awesome seat upon the head crest. The crest would be armored and feature an array of lights. This fresh visual update would make him pop, and be perfect for night missions in the jungle. Had I the artistic talent, I would draw him up and show you... OH LOOK! I made something with a little help from another artist. This is CLOSE to my vision of Binonatops, but I would trade the massive back missle launcher for a seat.


I wouldn't get your hopes too high, given the cost of Granamyr and the mixed reception of his price point, I don't think Scoot you would authorize the production of a beast in the $100 price range again, and any of these dinosaurs would probably be in that neighborhood.

This might be as close as you will ever get to Skeletor and Tyrantisaurus. Heh

That is awesome! I didn't have the PoG dinos, but I did have most of first two waves of Dino-Riders.

I always remembered Dragoon being Shadow Beast size, but I could very easily be wrong. I'm not actually the biggest of Filmation supporters.

I did see a cool custom of him once. It was standard figure sized. Looked good.

Is Stridor a beast or a vehicle, now? Meh, whatever, he's the only large-scaled item I "need" at this point. I suppose Bow's horse (Arrow) might be cool, too.

I would choose this list, but instead of Gigantisaur, I would put an Alcala monster pack (Demons/Trolls/Ice-Hacker).

I think Stridor, Night-Stalker, Spydor might fit more into the vehicle category, they're mechanical or biomechanical after all.
