So this month, we are getting Battle Lion and Scorpia. We are also getting Netossa and Octavia customer service stock. What do you think about Mattel's move to put these ladies for sale the same day as Scorpia? Stroke of genius? Manipulative b**tards? Or just business as usual?

Business as usual. Even if it's not 100% "Customer Service stock", I do think it provides an opportunity to fans who might have missed the initial feeding frenzy. I object to 'no day of sale' stock because it gives the strong impression that those figures will never be available to casual fans or 'cherry pickers'.

Makes good business sense to me. If people are going to buy a popular POP figure, might as well put up some other POP figures in hopes they'll buy more (and the buyers could save on shipping.Well we know they didn't consider that. They never want us to combine shipping).
....so if it makes good business sense, it must have been one of those 'happy accidents'. lol

Just smart business (for once!), nothing particularly negative about it. It's no different than when the latest season of a TV show comes out on disc and stores put the previous seasons on sale on the same date.
Mattel and the current brand manager do plenty of plainly flaky stuff, we really don't need to analyze things like this for intent! Not every beast is tender, especially if there is genius in his making.

I don't really see how anyone can find anything negative about this. There's PLENTY of reason to criticize MattyCollector and Digital River, but you really have to be grasping at straws to find negativity in the figure selection for this month. We know that they, at minimum, have left over customer service stock of each previous figure sold, which they typically eventually put back up for sale. Since they have CS stock leftovers of those particular previous figures, why not put them up for sale at the same time that a new related figure comes out and make a "theme" out of it?

There has been so many poor and questionable decisions, that we need to acknowledge when a competent one has been made. I wouldn't be surprised if this was not Scott's decision, as it makes sense.“Anything is a dildo, if you're brave enough"
