I can see some resemblance, but I'm not entirely sure.
You can rest assured though, that if Eldor looks like an older Eric, it wasn't becasue Eric requested him to be like that, or sculpted him this way,
(meaning: Eldor was not sculpted by Eric, and the sculptor probably homaged his friend.... IF he is indeed supposed to look like Eric)

Since you all seem to be fans of this figure (and I am not), I'll do you all a solid. I will not purchase this figure, or log onto the Matty website during the day of sale, or call or email them with a customer service question or complaint.

This will allow for 1 extra Eldor figure to be in stock and reduce the chance of your browser crashing by 0.0000000000010 000000000005000000000000001 %

Yes, I will do this, for you all, because I care.

I'm shocked that the book doesn't contain a pictorial answers to the greatest mysteries of Eternia, like what does Spector look like under his hood? And what is the real name of that highly decorated, and very important Eternian Palace Guard...

Probably there was a text mentioning "Nietlich is the ultimate douche-bag" and Scott has sent his Spector back in time to erase it.

if anyone deserves it it would be the guys who actually make our toys.

I'm not really seeing it. Besides isn't Jim Preziosi the Eldor of the 4HM? ;-)

I think I would rather just have Eternian text, at least for THIS version. Any holographic or lenticular image might be too small to look very good. Arm Chair brand manager hat on: I'd take this opportunity to create an Eternian Language and make some type of secret message that we could decode. We already have some glyphs runes and symbols in various media, It would be cool if we could actually know what they mean...

What was it? 1996/1997 When I first saw the vintage catalog photo of Eldor & He-Ro? Talk about your lifetime achievement awards.

The extra details are amazing. I wish all MOTUC had THIS amount of love and dedication put into them.
On the other hand, It would have been nice if he could double as a random Filmation villager ;-) I would SOOOO buy a variant but then I'm obsessed...

...I love the skull cap! I really didn't expect that! I'm glad 4HM took that into consideration, though given the lead time needed for making toys I wonder if the 4HM had access to material we are unaware of? They must have. Or they took apart one of the Eldor test shot that are floating around.

I might be adding a Jedi robe onto mine...

I hope the "M" (his working name was "Mentor") on his belt IS NOT a ram's skull. I don't feel he needs to be tied to Zalesia. It takes away from The Faceless One I think. If anything a Cosmic Enforcer "E" would make the most sense because originally Zodac was leader of The Elders (see the 1983 Series Bible which was referenced in the episode The Golden Disks of Knowledge)

The Staff of The Ancients is a GREAT touch! Thanks to whoever suggested that. It's a shame the crystal probably isn't removable. Time to search for in scale crafting beads...I wonder if his Bio will make mention of The Eternian Crystal, or The Energt Beast that ruled Eternia before the time of the Eldors/Ancients? (I really, really dread this bio and his "real name"...)

The size of the book is ok. I still would have preferred something a little bigger. Even if it verges on ludicrous I'd be OK with that since it it so old and must contain ALOT of knowledge...On the other hand the smaller size makes a certain amount of sense...If the laws of physics can fit on a napkin, I suspect that the Living Spells [of Transformation] are probably as eloquent as the equations that govern The Universe if not MORE SO. Perhaps the book could be pocket size? It would be funny if it can change size and be stored in his fanny pack! Of all the symbols that should be on the book I can't help but feel that it should have been something to do with Grayskull...

I'm calling it now...That isn't even the Book of Living Spells or the Book of Transformation...

It is The Book of He: the bible of the He-Men throughout He-Story He got it from Gorpo after Skull White Castle was built on Trolla.
    :hmlol::hmroll::hmtung:

Heck, even the bio can't ruin this for me. I'm just so happy he LOOKS so great! :-D

Now bring on Gray and Sharella (archer!)

I don't think they know how to make hologram stickers anymore (ignore She-Ra's vintage tiara. And BP She-Ra's, too). This week. Maybe they do since its not Back to the Future, though. Unless you mean like the little pictures on credit cards. I'm sure no one has the technology to put something like that on a piece of plastic. Certainly not Mattel. Or do you mean that "L" word? Logistics? No! Lenticular. Yeah...no. That's impossible. Pretty cool, huh?

I like him. He looks better than I ever thought the figure would. I also hope that the figure has hologram stickers inside the book.

Looks pretty nice. The removable hood looks pretty good. The spellbook opening was a must and I'm glad to see that's what we're getting. Please let there be 1988-style hologram stickers inside the book. The staff also looks really nice. He-Ro and Eldor were two I wanted to buy copies of back when I collected vintage and found out about the Powers of Grayskull line in the 1990's. He-Ro being actually made into a figure was what got me really paying attention to MOTUC at all in the first place (Vikor sealed the deal) so this of course is a must-buy for me.

It's a finished product. Or at least, a very close to finish product sample. Mattel can't change it that much now.

When did Mattel start making D&D figures?

I am NOT liking this figure.

I'm glad the character is finally seeing the light of day.

From what TokyoNever has said over at the Org, this might actually be a production sample since he's so close to release.
