MOTU Minis' video by TG

If these were MOTU Imaginext I could buy for my son at the price point that line is in the stores, I'd have bought them all by now. These things are too expensive, and I'd rather spend that money on MOTUC figures that both my son and I can enjoy.
EDIT: Stupid question to those of you who pay more attention than me. Was there an attempt like this from Scott to understand why the fans didn't buy into Wind Raider as much as they expected? My memory's telling me no, but I'm not 100% certain. People left and right keep asking for vehicles and drooled all over that Battle Ram that was done "just for fun", but WR's crappy performance basically seals the deal on "no more vehicles". SO am I to understand correctly that because Scott and company want to keep making minis, but fans are coming back and saying they don't really want to buy them, that warrants this outreach?
Not to be an outright basher or finger-pointer, but this coupled with Baby Skeletor just speaks volumes about Scott's blatant selfishness when it comes to MOTU. I haven't been this disgusted by handling the brand since that whole art book fiasco at SDCC.Last edited by wallbie; 06-20-2014, 04:05 AM.I make my own MOTU video games. Wanna see?

So I priced out the catch up bundle on Matty and what starts at $120 jumps up to $165 with shipping and taxes, plus those of us in Canada could expect a minimum $30 import duties charge, pricing these at approximately $200.
$200 divided by 10 figures is $20 per figure. That is insane for something that is tiny and barely articulated. What a joke."If we don't believe in freedom of expression for people we despise, we don't believe in it at all." ― Noam Chomsky

Scott Neitlich is now saying that if the Club Mini MOTU doesn't reach its minium sales goal in October, the minis sub will be canceled.

They could have been unarticulated, the weapons sculpted in hand, and been a lot cheaper. These could have caught on as something Matty offered online for cheap as something to give the little ones who are too small for MOTUC, a nice add-on purchase. or blind bagged at retail. Instead, they are going after the "cute" import/vinyl crowd, or fans of the game, both of which aren't going to buy these. I think they thought that people would be all over these. Sadly they're too expensive for everyone, especially if they don't interact with the game, which is something I've been asked by a couple friends who saw them and wanted to know why they were so much.
Whoever thought these were a better idea than an Imaginext line (something people have been asking about for 5 years now) or a M.U.S.C.L.E. / Green Army Men-style line (way cheap and profitable, just like Hasbro and everyone else has been doing for their properties over the last 1-2 years) is simply too dumb to be employed. These should have come out around the game launch, now they'll sit around unwanted until they're reasonably priced during a sale.
Here's another MOTU idea people keep asking for:
Diecast Hot Wheels versions of the classic MOTU vehicles.
Not 70's creeper conversion vans or el caminos with graphics on the side, the actual vehicles. Hasbro did this for GIJOE in the early 80's. There, now instead of doing regular cars with corny MOTU graphics on the sides, there is something people actually want!“What is freedom of expression? Without the freedom to offend, it ceases to exist."― Salman Rushdie
