From MattyCollector's news page, just make sure you read the red text that I've highlighted:
    Announcing 2015 Club Eternia®Subscriptions Available 6/27 – 8/18

Posted by Admin on June 23rd, 2014
    By Tara Z.
MOTUC fans… it’s that time of year! We’re gearing up to open subscriptions for the 2015 Masters of the Universe® Classics Club Eternia®. We’ve got all the important dates and info, so if you haven’t subscribed before or just want a refresher on the basics, here’s what you’ll need to know.
    2015 Club Eternia®

When subscriptions become available on 6/27, we’ll have all the details except the name of the club-exclusive figure; we always reveal it along with the first quarter figures at our Mattypalooza Fan Panel at San Diego Comic-Con. Remember, club subscribers receive Early Access to non-subscription products during our monthly sales, a choice of monthly or quarterly shipping options, and other great benefits.
You’ll want to make sure you subscribe early this year for a couple of reasons… first, not only will subscribers receive all Club benefits, including the monthly figures and variants, choice of shipping options and Early Access, butsubscribers who sign up before Friday, 7/25 at 11:59 a.m. will get a free display stand set! And second, this year subscriptions are limited to a set number, and once we hit that amount, that’s it… no more subscriptions will be sold.
The all-knowing, all-seeing Kowl™ will track the progress as we head toward the subscription limit. We’ll update the Kowlometer twice a week when Early Availability opens on 6/27 but why risk it? Subscribe early and make sure you get a subscription!
    • Early Availability Opens: Friday,6/27 at 9 a.m. PT. No figures will be revealed, but everyone who orders by Friday, 7/25 at 11:59 a.m. PT gets a free display stand set!
    • Club-Exclusive Figures Announced: Friday, 7/25 at 12:00 p.m. PT. Figures revealed at Mattypalooza Fan Panel at SDCC and here immediately after.
    • Subscription Period Closes: Availability continues until subscription quota is met or Monday, 8/18 at 11:59 p.m. PT, whichever comes first.
    Goat Man at SDCC

Mattel won’t be attending NYCC this year so we’ll have extra Goat Man™ figures for sale at SDCC! Beast Man® commands you to stop by the Mattel booth and pick up his obedient servant Klacky, this year’s traveling convention figure.
There’s plenty more to come so check back often. Want an email reminder when sales are about to start? Click here to register. Or, join me on Facebook, Twitter and in ourFan Forums and you’ll get reminders there, too.

Sooo, if you snooze you lose, that's how it is now?... An interesting scare tactic to force people into buying their subs early, wonderful!

I'm not interested in the display stands, so I can live without this "extra". I will most likely subscribe but not before SDCC and especially not before I know exactly what's cookin'. If the price hike goes beyond the $30 mark, then I'm out. Cherry picking is always an option.

So wait, they're cutting off subs this year? Um, why? Wasn't the line previously that they weren't selling enough?

So how do you get more sales if you limit the sales of your products? Oh right forgot. Likes, buzz, trends, forum posts, secondary market values... way more important than sales. What utter nonsense. Not a single one of those brings actual hard cash to the table, it's only "buzz" - the crap that keeps talentless hacks in a job, and justifies all sorts of horrible behavior.

Sorry to be such an "extremist"- but if you buy a sub, you're totally contributing (and encouraging) this type of stuff, so we only have ourselves to blame as it continues. Which is sad for those of us with hearts, morals, intelligence, and the desire to do the right things by others.

Don't let the panic fool you.
You won't miss a single figure by not subscribing.
You'll easily be able to get them you wait a few months and everyone desperately sells off their collections.
Your patience will save you money as well.

              Toyguru on sub limit:
It is due to production deadlines and out of our control.
The limit is about 10% over what was sold in 2014.
Makes perfect sense. Please Mr. Neitlich, let me know where to sign up. I don't care what's being offered in a 2015 sub or what you plan to shoehorn in this time. Just let me sign up asap.

                It gets even better...

Their will likely be no day-of-sale figures in 2015, yes. We actually build this into production well ahead of time. Years actually.

I'll try to not let this affect me in any way. I'll just buy my two subs, then buy my two add-on subs when offered, and hope for the best. It really makes no difference too me at all. I've always bought my two subs early and will do so this year as well.

OK, I know people hate it, but I can understand not offering day of sale to encourage subs. Why in the world are they limiting subs? That just seems really counter-intuitive.

It makes no difference, they've set a limit too high anyway so there's no point. I'm so glad this is my last year. I've had enough of all this nonsense.

The level of lying and manipulation has hit a new low. When people thought there were no more valid scare tactics left they just came out with a new one...

I'd like to share with you guys this little pearl:

QUESTION: Toyguru, you stated that the subscription limit for 2015 was due to "...production deadlines and out of our control." Why is there a limit this year and not in previous years? Are the production deadlines new, and if so why? Clarification would be very much appreciated. Thank you!

ANSWER: Sorry, we can't go into Mattel propitiatory procedures. But honestly, this isn't something to worry about. Lets try to hit 100% of the min and ensure 2015'happens. The cut off is well above that.
Translation: "Sorry, we can't go into Mattel's shady manipulative procedures. But honestly, this isn't something to worry about since it's nothing more than scare tactics. You guys might even reach 100% on the first day of sub sales that we will keep the meter running slowly just like we did the last few times. There never was a limit and there never will be. Hope this helps... pretty cool huh?"

I will say this, neither Mattel nor Scott Neitlich have the necessary dignity to own/run the MOTU brand, these people are just crooks abusing their costumer's trust and goodwill. And if you believe what they're saying then you're not any better than they are...

hahahaha. I think that they (Toyguru/Mattel) think the following:

and they think that ABOUT US. This guy can make witty jokes about Mattel's propitiatory procedures...(seriously, did anyone else even get THAT reference?, RE: the "is Toygurur god" discussion?) but doesn't know how to spell or use punctuation and makes "stupid" business choices like this? Call me a fool, but I'm reminded about what President Bush and Obi-Wan Kenobi said about foolishness.

Mattel continues to alienate, confuse, and annoy their customers. This should just be about buying great Masters of the Universe toys and enjoying them. It's unfortunate things have gotten so odd. I will sub just to get the toys. I love the line too much, but not the negative aspects the odd decision making cause.

I've reached a point where I just don't feel anything any more as far as Mattel and their business practices are concerned. I don't care what they do. I'll buy my two subs because I want the figures. That's all. If Mattel fails to deliver, I'll buy from customizers.

But many people DO care what they do. It's "only toys" but at the same time, if we as fans just put our heads in the sand and pretend the problem isn't there, we all get nowhere, and eventually there will be no figures to buy. Or, better yet, the figures will be $75 a piece, be filled with hazardous paint that flakes off in hours, or of toxic plastic. And the expected 4H sculpts, we'll swap them out with some stuff from a California 4th grade class. Because, hey, we all just want the figures and don't care, right? We all know when we all are quiet and pretend everything's ok, and just give companies our money, they always do the right thing by the customer, right? I'd rather have a clear conscience at this point, and zero more figures.

Well we don't really know what numbers MOTU has done. Mattel doesn't share that info and it's all speculative beyond what has been rumored over the years. The sub figure isn't really a gift, you pay for it when you sign up. MOTUC is definitely an expensive proposition to get into, and of course in this day and age, who can resist bragging about your ability to blow $800 on action figures when you have BragBook right there on your phone I think there is a circle of entitlement at play with some subscribers. Not all, but some. You want to feel good about your purchase, so you tell everyone, and that excitement can come off as pure arrogance online. I know US politicians like to tell people "The crisis is over" but the rest of us here on Earth, MOTUC is an expensive luxury in a tough economic time, and I think some of the more better-off of us are just clueless and careless. Plus, no one likes to be told that what they are doing is wrong or hurting others. Especially when it's something like toy collecting or something fun.

Day-of fuels add-on purchases at checkout and brings in new buyers. It makes a purchase for EU customers economically viable. It does not take a genius to figure it out.

I know they want to make matty.com a "cool" or "hip" store for items like Medicom, Hot Toys, or Bandai have going on. That has been the goal from day one over there. If they start doing lotteries (as that is the last marketing thing they haven't taken yet from the japanese vinyl scene)- MOTU fans are in for a rude awakening. There is no amount of money you can spend, you have to "know somebody" to even get your foot in the door, and some guys even cyberstalk their customers to force them to own the toy "by their rules."

Shawn, you'd be surprised. An exclusive might number 10pcs on average, and the artist/company will release maybe 4-5 for sale over a week. The rest are reserved for popular bloggers or photographers, who are friends or can help the artist or company. People will rat each other out via PM or email if they try to sell these toys (on eBay, Amazon, Yahoo Japan, craigslist etc.) so they can be "bumped up" on the list, or get brownie points with an artist or seller. It's an incredibly selfish, elitist, and corrupt scene.

DAMN. I was unaware of that. It seams more collaborate and free spirited from the outside looking in Should have known better considering the price tag attached to some of that stuff. I don't follow it closely, and it's way outside of my pocket book range, mostly it's just "oh that looks cool" and "wow that's a lotta coin!" Thanks for the incite RZ!
