  • Gwildor

Gwildor is one of my last big OMG gotta haves. I'm SUPER excited. and hope all the Gwildor fans are too, I hope this figure has converted you into being one.

I think they captured his likeness perfectly. I love the homage to the role play unpronounced prototype cosmic key.

I know lots of people joked about the bucket of ribs, but I wanted the grappling hook more That would be a great add on with another figure! I'm just crazy enough to want interchangeable faces for different expressions considering that is a HUGE part of his charm. Oh and an Alternate head with golden bows in his hair, "ceremonial Good Journey" variant with articulated ears hahahahah!

IMO he looks better in a figure form than himself on screen! LOL... They did him good, however I hope they won't screw him up in the final version!

Like him but hoped for slight more "Classicized' look!

So much for this 'classicizer' machine. Razz and Gwildor will look so good together!

And $35? really? The same price as Battle Cat, Arrow etc?

        What, Gwildor is $35?!!!

Unfortunately his Gillslitts are way too small, so his face has a complete different shape.

You can't judge the sculpt based on that! They filmed the whole movie while hill Gillslitts where clogged!

Why is a half sized figure $35? WTF???? He better come with a pack in figure like Prince Adam with Orko to justify that price!

I think the only pack in is the extra-large cosmic key.

My guess on the pricing? Increased detail, no parts reuse, and expectation that he won't sell very well so they need to boost the price to make up losses.

I don't like it. And even less for $35.

          Dude, Orko alongside Vikor...
          Loo-Kee next to Blade...

The line itself stretches from hyperdetailed to cartoony. There IS no one style. We have realistic 1987 movie looks hand in hand with Filmation cel art.

The accessory is damn near as big as Gwildor himself and I suppose we are paying for the additional unique deco. Spinerella and Ram Man are like that, although Ram Man was more about the weight and size.

One could make the case that we had a unified style up until mid-2010 or so...I can't remember whether it was Vikor or the Faceless One who was released first who really spelled the death knell for it, or someone I'm forgetting. But for the most part, 'unified style' seems to be an excuse for 'why we don't get alternate heads or certain accessories'.

I'd still love to see what the Horsemen could do with 200X/higher detail approaches to the original PoP cardback/toy designs, as well as a vac-metallized and higher-detail He-Ro, but such things appear most unlikely.

Unified style? Even vintage doesn't have a single unified style.

That's why I think variants are importnat, that way everybody gets the guys they want in the style they most like. Sometimes you can fit that all in a single figure like Fisto, or you have an "iconic look" like Beastman...

I'd love to see the 4HM redo 200X without the "anime" I think King Hiss and Snake Armor he-man proved that could be fun. Gwildor will certainly look good next to them and Bow right?

We also need filmation variants of the heroic and evil warriors!

Gwildor is slated to be $35 + tax + shipping!? Are you kidding me?

When any other toy company releases a line, all figures come in at the same price point. Larger figures, smaller figures, reused parts or not, no 1 figure is priced more than the others, unless they are in a larger or deluxe format (such as Modulok or Ram Man)

The fact that a standard figure is being sold at more (because he supposedly cost more to manufacture) is pure greed and nothing else. Everyone that didn't stand up at SDCC and say "If this regular sized figure is not $27 like the rest of them, I'm not buying. You work it out." are to blame for these schemes and scams.

                Its a scam.

A bit expensive, but I think the figure looks awesome. I'm digging that movie version of the cosmic key he comes with.

I feel that $35 is too much for a half-pint character. I'm still pissed about the Full figure Price tag on UNO and Madame Razz. I'm sorry but Mermista being $25 and has one whole body and a second bottom half vs Gwildor who barely reaches He-Man's crotch and he is $35... It does not compute! I will pay for him since he is on the sub, but it's a load of crap that he costs more than Dactus, Mermista or Draego-Man who were standard figures.

With all that said, I love how the toy looks.
