When Blade was announced (or rather his movie-sword teased), the color scheme of the sword was based on a repainted-for-charity version of the movie sword:

When asked about the discrepancy between a movie-accurate sword and the presented paintmaster, Mattel said they would stick to the color scheme that the 4 Horsemen delivered:

However, the final sword appears to have lost some color during production (most likely to save costs, but I will not digress how Mattel promised not to cut accessories or colors when upping the price of the figures).

So if Mattel clearly deviated from the Horsemens paintmaster anyway, why didn´t Mattel go with the movie-accurate color scheme instead?
