Really frustrated with Blade. I don't understand why they'd cheap out on his swords...when his name is BLADE for God's sake!!! Again as he has stated many times, Neitlich wanted the laser whip. And what he wants, he gets. Never mind the rest of us. How can a character like Blade have these awfully painted weapons yet Goat Man gets a lovely hammer and another Staff of Avion that nobody is interested in?! Blade was one of my most wanted and now he's ruined. Pissed off.

Yeah, exactly. What a joke. Again, his name is "BLADE", not "Laser Whip".

If it was too much to paint a sword properly, on this occasion they should have opted to first and foremost drop the whip, and second painted them anyway and took a slightly smaller profit margin. Unbelievable. Especially after that liar told us point blank that the price increase would ensure proper paint applications and no cutting corners. That was a verbal contract for buyers of the sub. I should send my swords to @$$-Lick and tell him to paint them for me himself.

I definitely agree that these figures aren't worth the premium prices we're paying. I'm seriously thinking now to cancel my sub after getting a couple more figures and cherry pick the rest. The final figures should look as good as their prototypes if not better, but lately we've been getting a lot of subpar crap aside from one or two figures!

So the armor's bulky despite the fact that it fastens on the back, this totally makes me fear for all figures going forward. Ruben really needs to be fired or at least moved off this line. I wonder if Lookie is gonna always pop up in Dan's reviews from now on. It's a fun riff on the She-Ra cartoon.

Here you go guys, Pixel-Dan's review:

I still don't like the armor, and the swords are simply bland!

Despite the virtually obscene flaws with the production version, I'm still looking forward to this figure. He's just been one of the characters that I've wanted for so long. I will be customizing him (which, I know, I shouldn't have to do) to reduce the obvious flaws. I'm actually getting two of him, but interestingly enough not just so he can have twin swords (that's just a bonus for me); I'm getting the second one to customize into Fender from Cyborg (who wore the same chainmail vest):

Yeah, I think these guys keep the problems on the table just to keep people talking. They need to realize all publicity is not good publicity and do their f**king jobs right.

Yes he is. He's inept in every single way.

I would really love to know the real reasons for the decisions they make. Some say it's laziness, some say it's because they really do lack the skill to do it right, some say it's done out of spite. It could be anything. I can definitely see it being done out of spite because I know that Ruben is like that. Neitlich approves of it because he's no better than him and does get a kick out of annoying the fans.

Damn, someone dropped a Latinum reference. Is Neitlich a Ferengi?

Man, I was looking forward to Blade, but this figure just doesn't look right to me!... His armor is way out of proportion, besides his deco isn't fitting well with the rest of the line! However, what's going on with that Ruben dude, is he testing and engineering most of these figures with his ass!

Someone at another forum brought the idea that the plastic they've been using for the last couple of armor pieces is somewhat softer "then" (at you ***guru) the one they used on the first couple of figures (Hordak, Man-At-Arms, etc...). Can any of you guys check if this is in fact true? I have no figures with a bulky armor so I can't check it out...

This would also justify why Blade's swords are bigger, since they also need a lot more plastic to prevent them from warping. Can you imagine a character called Blade with three whips?

Not just the handle, but the entire sword is too big and out of proportion. It seems like Ruben designs the clothes/armor to use MORE plastic because of the thickness. Wouldn't MORE plastic cost more? Or is he really that bad of a toy designer?

Oh wow, this turned out like crap. Now he looks like he's wearing his Dad's sweater. If they wanted to cut costs they could have made the armour movie accurate size and not XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXL. And the sword handle being too big for his hand? That's an absolute joke. As is the pathetic feeble transparent lie from Neitich about paint hits.

That longer sword really, really looks like trash... I can't believe they have the nerve to include that with Blade. Every figure that comes out these days has SOME issue... it's inevitable. Neitlich should be ashamed of his existence.

Because Blade has 500,000,000 paint decos... each deco is worth 10 bars of gold pressed latinum.

  • Draego-Man

Amen to that! 2 swords painted properly. Lie-Or even said in a video that if people wanted both swords they'd have to buy 2 Blades.... maybe if the swords were actual quality that ploy would work, but you shot yourself in the foot once again!

Yeah, but Scooter lies all the time. We may still get another weapons pack. Basically I'm just choked that we got short changed on his swords and I would prefer quality swords and no whip to half-baked swords and a whip.

I like the whip idea... but it just looks bad to me. I'm sorry, I meant it looks Rubenized. If they could put Draego-Man's awesome weapons in a weapons pack, they should do the same with the whip. I still don't get why weapon packs are done... did Neitlich say that they are finished? Maybe he's lying. LOL!

This is one of those figures that I like to come back to whenever I ask myself why did I quit this line. Get ready for Rio Blast...

Where did you hear this? From Dan himself?

Yes... but the character was featured with a whip in the film. It is a part of the character, just as much as his projectile arm darts are. He isn't just a master of swords in the film - he is a master of weapons. Also, we have already been told that they won't make any more weapons packs for MOTUC, so that wouldn't even be an option at this point.
