Yeah, I think these guys keep the problems on the table just to keep people talking. They need to realize all publicity is not good publicity and do their f**king jobs right.

Despite the virtually obscene flaws with the production version, I'm still looking forward to this figure. He's just been one of the characters that I've wanted for so long. I will be customizing him (which, I know, I shouldn't have to do) to reduce the obvious flaws. I'm actually getting two of him, but interestingly enough not just so he can have twin swords (that's just a bonus for me); I'm getting the second one to customize into Fender from Cyborg (who wore the same chainmail vest):

So the armor's bulky despite the fact that it fastens on the back, this totally makes me fear for all figures going forward. Ruben really needs to be fired or at least moved off this line. I wonder if Lookie is gonna always pop up in Dan's reviews from now on. It's a fun riff on the She-Ra cartoon.Comment

Those swords are outrageous. I thought this was supposed to be a high end collector line, not a dollar store discount bin line. What absolute crap that we are paying premium money for these. If it was too much to paint a sword properly, on this occasion they should have opted to first and foremost drop the whip, and second painted them anyway and took a slightly smaller profit margin. Unbelievable. Especially after that liar told us point blank that the price increase would ensure proper paint applications and no cutting corners. That was a verbal contract for buyers of the sub. I definitely agree that these figures aren't worth the premium prices we're paying. I'm seriously thinking now to cancel my sub after getting a couple more figures and cherry pick the rest. Really frustrated with Blade. I don't understand why they'd cheap out on his swords...when his name is BLADE for God's sake!!! Again as he has stated many times, Neitlich wanted the laser whip. And what he wants, he gets. Never mind the rest of us. How can a character like Blade have these awfully painted weapons yet Goat Man gets a lovely hammer and another Staff of Avion that nobody is interested in?! Blade was one of my most wanted and now he's ruined. Pissed off.Comment

It's not just the lack of paint on the swords. The swords look like they are too big and out of scale with the figure. I just don't know what to think about his armor either... Not only is it way to big, but the plastic seems too thick. Look at the chain mail, it's supposed to be thin and more form fitting but it's not.Comment

Anthony De Longis was very supportive about getting Blade made as an action figure in MOTUC, and helped during subscription time by making 2 videos for the fans to show his support. As Blade is going on sale today, it seems only fitting to share these videos again...

And rereading his bio, I just noticed something odd, although I think someone at the Org may have picked up on this months ago ... He joined Skeletor as a mercenary for Second Ultimate Battleground, but he fought against He-Man in that same conflict? More and more I get convinced that the mini-comic doesn't reflect what Scott intended for 2nd Ultimate Battleground when he wrote the bios.Comment

...Got my Blade a couple of days ago! GREAT figure. The swords look better in hand even with the missing paint, more of a flat silver than the grey they appered as in online pics. I don't really get the wider, flatter handle of the of the movie sword, but surprisingly he grips it quite tightly, and although it stetches the hand a bit, it goes back to normal after it's out in a minute! I painted the squares on bot swords' hilts metallic-blue, looks way better like that! Thought about painting the handles black, but was concerned about paint-rub. Now I just need to get one more of both swords somehow...Comment

Got my second Blade in today (first one's with my quarterly Sub, so I don't have it yet), and he's pretty awesome. The bulky armor isn't as bad as it looks in some pictures (bad enough that I still want to fix it though), but the handle on the movie sword is literally twice as wide as the figure's grip, so I may not be displaying him with those hand-warpers. Time to spend more money/time on something Mattel screwed up.Comment
