  • Major Lie exposed on Matty Forums

    http://forums.mattycollector.com/eve...7/m/8361060578

They have been telling us for a long time that it takes 18 to 24 months for any changes to be made to a figure and that's been their excuse for not fixing fat suits, granny panties etc. etc. Well it turns out this is a FLAT OUT LIE!

Mara is supposed to be GUARANTEED for 2015, and if that is the case, then she should be well into the design stage. Yet here we have it straight from the horses mouth that "no work" has been done on her at all and that fans should be vocal about what they'd like to see.

    Are you ****ing kidding me?

How anyone can believe a single solitary word these lying sack of shits say is beyond me.

TG has claimed in the early days that a figure usually needs 6-9 months ahead of time to go through any proper design changes to it, and how he changed his story to that idiotic 18-24 claim is beyond me, even if the factories they're using are so super busy and on a very tight schedule, two years in advance is just farce!

I think it's all about saving money, the less fixing they do, the more profit they'll keep.

No surprise there... All they do is lie, Neitlich has built an entire career around lies... Catra's Wrath is another one, I still remember how he was trying to use bs semantics to justify the "day-of" selling of Sea Hawk- after it was originally offered as a "Sub-Exclusive".

For those that are interested here's another LIE, that was exposed not long ago:

I believe nothing has been done because they wanted to wait and see if the 2015 line would meet the minimum sub amount.

I agree, but apparently the fans voted for her to be made. She's part of the 2015 lineup... she was promised before the end of the line. How that is possible given the 18 to 24 month advance schedule and "no work" having been done on her is beyond me. What it means is that these assholes have been lying all along and could have fixed issues like fat suit armor very easily. Instead they asked us all to bend over while they rammed home crap product.

The problem is,Toyguru allowed these "few" fan to cast the vote for her instead of actual Subscribers. The vote was 60-59 (something like that)...so these "few" fans get to dictate who gets made? how many subscribers actually want her vs those who don't

You're talking about the brainwashed sheeple here who would even accept broken figures and say no biggie, there is always superglue, and still would thank TG for the line's existence!

Not defending Scott but it could also possibly mean that the line of questioning was getting to close to answers and Catra's Wrath doesn't have the authority to answer said questions? Other than that I can't understand why the continuous questions to some extent: we know this is it for the line, what we're getting... Always asking the same thing over and over just adds to some of our fellow fans dismay.

Asking about the design choices for a figure which has already been confirmed is a very legit question. It would help avoiding things like BG Evil-lyn or FAILmation Hordak.

                      Mmmmm.....

Admittedly, Mara would require very little tooling. She shouldn't take very long to do at all. I never believed the 18 month rule that Scott applied to the brand, so I'm sure that was just another lie... er ... exaggeration on his part to get out of doing things properly. I really hope that when MOTUC finishes, Scott Neitlich is nowhere near the brand when it goes back to retail for the movie.

TG ALWAYS tells us that there aren't any plans for figures that are actually being planned. This is nothing new.

Remember when conversations about Whiplash haven't taken place yet, only for Whiplash to be revealed at NYTF?

Sssqueeze is on the way in 2015, but TG would never tell us anything about the figure until he's revealed. Mara is the exact same way.

                        This 100%-

Nothing new that they play the "nothing planned" card and then -surprise!- the figure is revealed. It doesn't bother me.

Maybe they've started on the figure, and Catra's Wrath doesn't know about it. Or maybe they really haven't started it yet. Or, if you're feeling sinister, they haven't started it, and Catra's Wrath is throwing shade to dodge the question, so Matty can blow off any fan suggestions and cut costs.

We all know the lead time statements, and design vs. 4H statements, to both be totally false at this point. We can't expect a forum mod to be aware of the production details of every figure in the pipeline. As they've mentioned before, they moderate the forum, it's TG who provides those details. There's more than enough shenanigans on in this topic, we don't need to be unreasonable in expectations of forum mods, or shoot at every shadow that appears.

We can reasonably infer from past statements from Matty, that it takes them about 6-9 months of lead time for most figures. Snake MAA is the most blatant and documented of figures that were changed from proto to final, and that was released about 9 months after the fan requested changes. If we take the shortest lead time TG has mentioned, as Mechanaizor said above, 6 months, as the shortest of the range, and the actual 9 months from Snake MAA- we get 6-9 months. So if we use that time frame, Catra's Wrath's statement is still accurate.

Also, if the figure is released after Sept 2015, it would still be a 12+ month timeframe, so this post about Mara doesn't prove or disprove anything currently. The year-long lead times have already been disproven, with the existence of the Snake MAA figure, so no need to disprove it again

Sure, but things do change, I'm sure the lead time has been different lengths at different points in time for various reasons. It's unfortunate that Scott's vagueness just clouds the issues as he grasps for excuses instead of saying "we don't WANT to change X for reason I don't have to tell you".

I really doubt the lead time has ever changed. Every time it comes up, Scott simply uses a timeframe that disallows any fan-requested changes. It's hard to really believe that every figure ever took over a year, when Snake MAA was drastically changed within 6-9 months of release, because huge numbers of fans said they wouldn't buy it when it was shown at SDCC that year.

I do believe that we've had A LOT of smoke blown up our arses with regard to the turn around time frame over the years. It does conveniently change whenever it suits them.

That being said, there still was some difference between what happened with Snake MAA and what people are usually requesting for upcoming figures...

Usually (not always, but usually) when people are asking for changes to an upcoming figure that has been revealed, what they are asking for would require some kind of change in the sculpting of the figure and so forth... and ultimately the new, unique tooling being done for the figure.

With Snake Man-At-Arms, aside from the head, the figure was already going to be made from existing parts... namely the same ones as the original MAA. When a suggestion was made that they use a different set of existing parts to make him look more "200X-ish," they were able to make that change. There is a difference between changing/modifying a part that has already been sculpted and may be somewhere in the process of being tooled, and simply opting to use different already-tooled parts for a figure that has not actually gone into production yet.

I'm not defending Mattel or TG in terms of what has been said regarding time frames. They story has changed a lot and been rather inconsistent. But at the same time there are different scenarios and situations that aren't equal, and I can see why one might be easier to do than another.

Like MGM said, that's Standard Operating Procedure for Mattycollector. I take what CW says with a grain of salt since he is NOT Toyguru. It's all in the idea that they want to "surprise us" by keeping everything under wraps until they reveal and it's "too late to fix things"... (and that's how we can't catch the horrible mistakes like non-filmation head for hordak, wrong paint decos for Madame Razz, the clusterflock that was NA Skeletor, etc.) Good thing they got rid of Ruben "Mediocre" Martinez

How about something as simple as a "no comment then" or how-about Mattel's mouth, Toyguru simply just DOES NOT COMMENT. You don't see Hasbro getting on the internet telling us all the things they are/are not doing. Hasbro doesn't troll the **** out of the community like this guy does! But hey, once again, look at that...We are talking more about Toyguru rather then the toys themselves...and it was CW that made this comment. WOW (I blame my self too as I'm now contributing!) I know how hard it is to STFU, but wouldn't we ALL be better off if some of us just STFU a little more? I challenge Toyguru to start shutting the **** up, (this includes CW) so that we can stop talking about all this bullshit, and return to talking about the toys & Stories!

Besides, more then half of what he says he gets from an a lying, non-answering 8 ball. I don't understand WHY people hang on every word of this ONE MARKETING MAN as if he was like God? "According to God's Will" = "Scott Said" and drawing conclusions by comparing one thing Scott/god said to another seams counter productive to maintaining a healthy community and fostering real discussions IMO. All Mattel cares about is how much stuff they can convince us to buy. They care nothing for this community or the people they hurt. They aren't a part of it, they are ABOVE it, and only communicate with us to get us to open our wallets to them.

Catra's Wrath, is just one of Mattel's minions. He does and says what he is told to do and say. Does anyone even know his real name? I would bet you money he is "one of us" and Scott pays him in free toys...No sense in getting angry, don't shoot the messenger. Your watch breaks, you don't get mad at a cog, you replace it. Mattel aren't the enemy, but they also aren't a friend, so who gives a flying **** what they say? Why Does anyone really care? (Real question, not rhetorical. I'm genuinely curious.)

See I don't know her (him?) at all personally or read their posts much, so I can't make that type of call. I think they're policing the community as per Mattel's instructions. I honestly think she doesn't know anything about Mattel's in-progress products beyond what Scott tells her, based on many of the answers I have read over time.

I think people who ignore problems, put down those who don't, play the fake-positivity game, or pretend that the lies don't happen... those people are the real problem. CW is just doing their job... these other people are being rude and deceitful for free.

I have a feeling that Catra's Wrath is actually Scott's alter ego.

Maybe he's trying his acting potential. After all both styles lead to the same rotting conclusion...

Toyguru is known for his "Double Speak", so perhaps a double identity makes sense.

Haha it could be that Scotty is channeling his inner Norman Bates (hes definitely not Two-Face, Neitlich lacks the balls)...

The man (and I use the term "man" very loosely here) is filled with soo many lies- that one persona is no longer enough for his scheming mind.

Its a good thing that he (they) lives with a psychotherapist, its just too bad that no amount of therapy can stop his pathological lying.

Well, that depends... If the psychotherapist you mention is twisted like TG is, she could show him more ways on how to be even more manipulative with his deeds. After all, greed has no limits.
