  • Fwoosh Previews... Tung Lashor, Mermista, Gwildor, and Spinnerella

    From The Fwoosh: http://thefwoosh.com/2014/10/motuc-c...nd-spinnerella

Man I can't stand Gwildor. This figures does not fit with the line at all. The hyper realistic detail is annoying and creepy. Absolutely horrible.

Finally we have something to talk about besides you know who. Thanks for leading it off Draego-Man.

I'm really looking forward to Tung Lashor. I'm pretty sure I'll display him with his tongue sticking out.

Yikes. Gwildor is looking a little bit like Freddy Kruger in this close up picture.

Well, it's not like Billy Barty was ever going to be on the cover of GQ anyways....

But wow. That thing is hideous. Maybe that's why he comes with such a big Cosmic Key, so you can hide the figure behind it!

Ye Gods!! The original was bad enough....Paint-job kinda looks sloppy on the beard/hair too.

Yeah, I'n not too found of the paint job on the beard here, looks a lot sloppier than the prototype was! :-/

      Thanks for the nightmares.

Seriously, the only thing I'm interested in are the cosmic keys....

Can't wait for Tung Lashor and the Ladies.

Tung Lashor looks fantastic. He comes with the horde armband too which is a bonus for me.

Spinerella is gonna look awkward when her arms are placed to her sides... I don't think that's good.

Gwildor is overpriced. He should have been the normal price figure instead and Mermista, which comes with legs and fins, should have been the higher priced figure.

        And talking about Mermista:

There really is no excuse for the "granny panties" on this character. We were shown Glimmer in Sept 2013. They knew fans were not happy with this look over a year ago, but didn't bother to correct it for Mermista (hell, they knew we were not happy with Adora's granny panties 5 years ago!) This should have been an easy fix. Sigh... at least she looks good in her mermaid tail on.

Reptiles with nipples...? What will they think of next?!?!

Don't say that on the ORG! I did once, and it unleashed a hornet's nest of nerd attacks!

Humanoid male reptiles could have nipples in Fantasy much like the female ones with breasts... ;-)

If it was anywhere but the org, I would think you were pulling my leg. But since the org is involved, of course they would be that petty and juvenile.

Mech: Yes, that is all true. And IMHO kinda dumb. But in art I suppose a majority demands the assignment of outward sexual characteristics, so here we are...

I'm a gwildor fan and even i think he's overpriced. Bob's bucket o' ribs would've been a better accessory over that cosmic key.

What happened to Mermista? The crotch piece is completely out of scale...

I also wonder why there are no full pictures from Spinerella with her arms down, I'm sure it looks amazing... ly bad.

The female figures always get the short end of the stick in this line.

Good point about Spinerella. I never thought of that, but clearly if you pose her any other way she is going to look like crap with these big things sticking out and defying gravity!

I couldn't care less about the POP figs, but Tung Lashor was always my favorite Snake-Man. Shweeeeeet!

Something seems off to me regarding Mermista's face. It looks like an old ladies face to me for some reason. Maybe it's the shade of blue for the hair.... I don't know.... maybe it's the fact it looks like she's got a full load in those Depends she's got on

Tung Lashor looks the best here, even though he's more like a frog!

I've always thought he looked like a frog person more than a snake! Glad I'm not alone.

Believe me you're not, even Pixel-Dan said that during the SDCC walk through interview with TG.

Now that I have her in hand, I've got to ask: What the Hell is wrong with MERMISTA's right ankle!?
I don't get it? In every picture I've seen, she looks like she's got a severely deformed right ankle, and I hoped it was just on some of them, but mine looks ****ed off too. Has anyone gotten one that isn't screwed up?

I think the figures looks great, and I see so no real issues with them.

The only problem that arises from this awesome close-up images is the acknowledgement of TG's terrible bio ideas (Mermista holding Mer-Man's head there) and the heavy level of detail on Gwildor's face, which makes him stand out from the other figures.

I seem to recall a certain ex brand manager making a statement about consistency in the line, and ensuring that all figures have the same look, blah, blah, blah. You get the picture.

My memory is a tad fuzzy... did anyone complain about Blade being too hyper detailed, and not fitting in with most of the line? Then of course there's the similar argument that the Filmation-esqe figures like Orko, Lookie, Kowl, etc. don't quite fit in with the line either. MOTUC is obviously a melting pot of so many different styles... I've learned to accept it.

I remember some did complain about Blade looking too realistic, but I don't recall it being a big issue for most. I personally prefer more realistic as opposed to Happy Meal Razz and other under-sculpted figures.
