From mattycollector:
Fan:
Seriously, your words mean nothing at this point Scott.
Errors keep happening. They are always new errors. Don't pat yourself on the back because they get fixed in (I must correct you, OVER AN HOUR) -- Have someone test the site for errors first. Can't imagine it would be that hard. If there is an error, delay the sale, post about it, fix the issue, then go live. I think that would be a (snicker) logical way to run this site.
You could also fire Digital River. It's been nothing but one thing after another with them, and you keep making excuses. If you announced tomorrow you fired them, 2015 would be in the bag. Though wait, after this maybe not.
You can apologize until you are blue in the face, and run around putting out fires all you want, but it is nothing but a meaningless gesture when you refuse to offer some sort of customer satisfaction for the inconvenience. Saying "Look! We fixed it!" after the fact does little to quell tempers, and retain customers. Not our fault, Scott. And your passive attitude doesn't help.
Scott:
I do not control the hiring of Mattel vendors. I am sorry for any inconvienence you may have had this morning due to the shipping not working for about 60 min. We did fix the issue. There is not much else I am physcially capable of doing.
So... does he do anything at Mattel besides go to cons and lurk the fan forums all day? I mean really... his daily routine must be mind-boggling to the average person who works for a living. he really does have a dream job... Getting paid to simply be the face of mattycollector... and nothing more.

Honestly, I do feel bad for those that lost out yesterday and today. It truly stinks for them. I can't blame those who missed out last year and then were aced out of it twice this year, from completely giving up on the line. Yet here he was, not two days before out here shilling for the 2015 sub. Makes no sense.

Yet another drop in the bucket that has been overflowing & turned into a river of pure stupidity by DR. I don't ever go to MattyCollector anymore b/c of these issues. I would rather spend an extra $20 from you guys TP spare myself the headache. Just wait until they do another Chase surprise figure online. Screwing the loyal sub holders again. Here's a quote DR should follow. Quality in a service or product is not what you put into it. It is what the client or customer gets out of it. Peter Drucker

I read somewhere that Scott said something like "If you subbed last year you have a Ram Man and now you don't need to buy one". If this is true, then TG would probably be on the top of the worst branch manager list. This is a collector line, and a hot one at that. Make your product available. Fix your website. Make your customers happy. Make more money. Money. You have people willing to throw down $60 + shipping on a piece of plastic with 5 years of loyalty (to this line) and 20+ years of loyalty to the brand and you can't make it work?
What about all the people that want to buy the product, but couldn't sub for any number of reasons. Or the ones that chose not to get the sub, because of your endless errors and the rampant dissatisfaction with DR?
I've never seen someone openly shrink their customer base with such insipid quotes. We could probably make a Scottism's Page A Day Calendar. Anyone got anymore?Last edited by Guest; 01-16-2014, 07:24 PM.

The guy is PR poison, pure and simple. For someone who claims to be fighting the good fight for "the fans" (again, we aren't just fans, we are their customers!) he does more than his fair share of alienating people away from the brand with his comments. When the going gets tough, I guarantee that he says something everytime that makes it worse.
I get that being the face of has got to be tough, and I do acknowledge that sometimes we as a community of collectors can be something on the demanding side. Heavy is the head that wears the crown, is it not? And let's be honest here, that crown and the noteriety that comes with it is something that he's been more than proud to wear for years.
-
"There was something about the fact that if you weren't the type of customer that wants everything -then you're not the type of customer we want. "
That sounds completely asinine. I'd believe TG said that.
-
The whole point of this is to get fans to BUY THE SUB. That's how Mattel makes their money. Day of sales are just icing on the cake.
-
Yup. http://forums.mattycollector.com/eve...7/m/9641093958
....and in case the thread gets conveniently deleted, to exact quote was:The issue lasted for about 1 hour and was quickly fixed. The site did not shut down or anything. And yes, if you were a 2013'sub holder you already have a Ram Mam and did not need one today.
And that goes for Horde troopers too. A second run isn't necessary, Scott must have decided you do not "need" to army build........Last edited by Croc-O-Bite!; 01-16-2014, 10:24 AM.

I can tell you that at least one factor as to why some missed out on Fisto, is because several people including myself received an extra Fisto, Sorceress, and Shadow Weaver for free. It was a huge DR mistake that I'm not sure too many people know about.

There were so many mistakes with that order. I heard of a number of Sorceress figures being packed in white Fisto mailers, and vice-versa. Mattel should have done the honourable thing and made a new batch of Fisto figures, as they let their subscribers down. In the end, I believe they paid dearly for that screwup with less people buying subscriptions the following year. The fact they had to beg for subscribers to return the next year can be partly attributed to the Fisto Fiasco™.

Wait a minute. You paid for 2 subscriptions and you didn't get them? Wow.How many times has this been escalated and how many service tickets have been created? I'd be curious to see your emails from customer service and hear the reasons why you have been told.
And did anyone notice that while other toy companies are hands off when it comes to following trends/collector market value (since most of them sell their product to other retailers and don't care once they sell) Mattel seems to closely monitor secondary market prices. They offered up what they call 'old customer service' stock at FULL price, but yet highly discount the regular stock that they keep on hand and have too many of. $10 for He-Man but $27 for Teela?
Hasbro would never do this. Something tells me He-Man.org frequenter ToyGuru made sure he wrang every dollar out of Teela in the 60 seconds it took her to sell out, but yet doesn't feel she justifies another run to allow new purchases. Just let her fall onto EBAY for $150 to $300 a pop. As for Big Lots and all the inventory that was blown out there, well that's a whole other thread, but I can tell you that if all of the figures I've seen at Big Lots were online for even 50% off, I would have paid more than what they sold them off for, and the shipping and dealt with crappy DR and their wretched website to buy them.
Clumsy business sense, arrogant, petty little man.

That is really lame, and really uncool. Didn't they offer Fisto again some time later? I'm sure I've seen him again.
-
No, Fisto was never offered again.
-
But you had 2 subscriptions. Figures were promised to subscribers, and there is always customer service stock. I think Teela returning proved that. I don't think you fought hard enough. I think you need to create a big assertive (and maybe nasty at times) email and flood Scoot Nutslick email until you get your 2 Fistos.
The figures that you paid for, wanted and were promised.
Wait, didn't they offer up some signed Fistos a while back for a contest?Last edited by Guest; 05-01-2014, 08:49 AM.

This is why Neitlich is loved by Mattel, because on paper, from the point of view of his bosses... he gets results. He's able to show that he saves Mattel money while earning them money at the same time. Believe me, he's cutthroat... He's got a super thick portfolio about all the things that he's done (or didn't do) while brand manager. Some of which were other peoples ideas that he took credit for, which he will use to further his career.

I subbed for 2014, and then I did the math. Mattel wanted me to pay $70 for 4 figures each quarter. When a reselling he-fans sells me 4 items the same size, they ships it to me for $50 or less. Less.
I stripped my account of billing info, cancelled my credit card and I'm done. I will not be on the hook for $700 this year. They can keep their $25 auth fee.
I may even call my bank and fight for that back. I will gladly help out any reseller offering me fair pricing, and the few that I've dealt with have been great. The fans truly are the life of this line.
While in the past I forgave DR of several customer service blunders, ignored the crazy posts from the most outrageous, inflammatory of fans, scoffed at some of their opinions (yes, some of them were indeed utterly laughable), when its all said and done, Mattel, DR and TG really are an awful toxic soup.
Mattel will never receive a single cent of my money directly again.Last edited by Guest; 01-17-2014, 06:01 AM.

As far as fighting to get your $25 back from the initial charge back in the summer, that maybe an uphill battle for you. I work in the Billing disputes department for a major credit card, and typically the window is 60 days to dispute a charge. Now granted, depending on the financial institution, they may opt to give you a credit for it, but every bank is different in how the approach those situations.
It's sad to see the loss of another subscriber. At the end of the day though, the people responsible at Mattel shouldn't be finger pointing to their customers when it comes to announce the end of the line prematurely. They only have themselves to blame.

I just can't believe Neitlich has never been physically attacked at a con or what not. I will say this again, Neitlich is the internet's biggest ever troll. He delights in upsetting people. He probably has nothing good in his life and has to resort to ruining other's happiness. All of these problems can't be coincidence. He's trolling us."The first condition of progress is that there is no censorship"
