  • Lizard Man: Reviews and Discussion

I'm a little late this month but I just got around to reviewing Lizard Man. While he wasn't on my most wanted list I gotta admit that this guy is pretty fantastic. The quality control is great and his unique sculpt is quite lovely. While he's a bit more "animated" looking, I don't feel he looks out of place in a crowd. Maybe next to an individual figure like Fisto or Jitsu, but not as part of a larger group. Anyways, what are your thoughts on this guy?

Personally, I think my Lizard Man is keeping the sword intended for Skeletor. He looks rather good with it!

Nice review. Now all you need is a video camera to usurp Pixel Daniel.

I've done one or two video reviews (I think I reviewed the SDCC 2013 Shredder and the Predator Trophy Room diorama) but they're just not my thing. They're probably on Youtube under ThEpic Review or something.

You forgot to mention his beautiful knee design, which allows for his leg to still look natural when bent.

Your reviews are really well put together, and they actually revealed to me just how much I don't like Horde Prime's paint scheme. He was such an easy pass for me.

I thought I mentioned that? I do love that design for his knees as it is rather unique in this line and does help give him that slouch posture he's know for.

And thanks for the comment on the structure. I have two structures that I float back and forth between, one covering the more traditional review elements (scale/style, articulation, sculpt, paint, and accessories) and one that covers the positives and negatives. I'd love to hear feedback as to which review structure folks like more?

Got my Lizard Man today. Meh. I don't like that they made a buck just for this figure, rather than one that can be used for multiple figures. Should have been a slim buck, and then an armor an neck piece. They cheaped out on this and prevented future figures from using what could have been a great slim buck.

Sucks being in Canada, by the time my figures arrive no one wants to discuss them anymore as everyone has moved on to the newest figures.

I feel your pain. I'm on the quarterly subscription to save money on shipping so I haven't got my hands on the figures yet.

yeah, i agree. a unique torso for him that can't be re-used is just more expensive in the long run. it doesn't make sense. i wish i could take his tunic off, i could have army builded him as a snake man, but now i can't. the bone sword i gave to my tru skeletor. i did not notice his knees, will check it out tonight. his smile is annoying though.

That non removable tunic is horrible. It seems like one of the cheapest figures in the line. Pathetic really and a totally crappy way to start 2015.

For the record I also hate this character to begin with, so it was going to take a lot to win me over. This did nothing of the sort. Horrible, horrible figure.

I respect your opinion here Draego, but I somehow disagree with you. While I can see why Lizard-Man isn't the best figure in this line, but he's far from being a horrible horrible figure!!!

The chest piece is abysmal. It looks really stupid and out of place in a line where all armor is removable. It reminds me of Playmobile. Total junk.

It reminds you of Playmobil? That's an odd comparison!

I do wonder why they didn't take the opportunity to make a slim build. Surely another character or two would have been able to use it. Still, in and of itself, I think this is about the best Lizard Man we could have got. If you don't like lizard man he's definitely not going to bowl you over, but he's a faithful translation of the only time we've seen the character (other than being a bit tall).

Yeah, the texture and quality and shine to the plastic all scream Playmobile. Just seems like a really low quality piece.

i totally agree & i forgot to mention that he also sucks because he doesn't have the ab-crunch.

Well I really like LM. My only nitpick is he's so tall.
