Yeah, I sure like this new dude a lot better! He doesn't have a smarmy, slimy way about him like a used car salesman. He just presents the product and isn't trying to make himself a celebrity in his own mind.
Plus, that Point Dread looks cool and the new figures look amazing!

Regarding the videos DM, notice how Brandon has the table and the figures in front of him, so the the merchandise is actually front and centre.... while the former brand manager had the table & all the items behind him, putting that douchebag front and centre and the making videos more about him.

The bottom half of Point Dread is now twice as tall as it used to be--and yes, that's accounting for relative scale. The original 'bunker' portion wound up waist-high if used separately.
This is not a complaint.
And Filmation Teela ... while I'd personally prefer a straight rerelease (vintage toys trump Filmation for me), this will be a way to get the character without breaking the bank, and still looking more or less like my mental image of Teela.

This was a WELL PRODUCED video! I enjoyed the presentation of the products and the teaser! Brandon did a great job of showing you the goods and keeping Point Dread out of it all and making you want it that much more; that we are here talking about it, reclaiming that fevered interest we had with this line and it's products the day this started. I know I am (as much as maybe most of you) are now anticipating his next video when he actually covers it. That's the way to give a taste and keep ya coming back for more! I liked what I saw and what wasn't spoken of! It's gonna be real interesting how this year rolls out...

Why does everybody think Filmation Teela has to come with P.Dread? Only because she stood inside in the vid? I would wait till its officially confirmed.
I for one hope the Talon Fighter wont be a twoseater.
It would be to big in proportion to Grayskull, sitting on top of it , i guess.

I find it hard to believe that with the line winding down and sub numbers at their lowest that suddenly they will just turn out a vehicle/part playset.....after the wind raider's supposed slow sales they said vehicles were off the table and then they gave us Battle Ram but only in 1) a double pack sled and figure with the threat of never having the ram part and 2) bribe us with sub sales and again buy the ram in a double pack......yes you can say that those are the former brand managers tactics, but it could also be the sales plan for the line, personally I don't think that much has changed......yes the Q+A's are better answered with a little more clarity but they could just be throwing us the little nibbles to keep us hooked and lets be serious they couldn't do any worse than the nutlick at answering the questions, we still don't know how or when the Talon fighter/point dread will be released. They may hold us to ransom again and say that if we don't buy into Son of He-Man then point dread is off the table.
I don't mean to be cynical but I have become really disillusioned with Motuc and I find I am starting to look at the line from the outside more and more. Still I am more than happy for those of you looking forward to the release I still remember the beginning of the line when I looked forward to the releases and getting the figures in hand, but those days are gone for me and the sales tactics of the former manager are a big part of that, only time will tell if they really have turned a corner with the new team.

You are right to be cynical. These clowns, Mattel Corporate, are making money off this line hand over fist. $100 for a ****ing Battle Ram? A little suspicious that it comes in a white box - when for the last year they switched over to brown to save some cash? How some of the handles were warped - like they had been stored a long time?
I have posted about this quite a bit, but someone found the port declaration from China to California, I think in 2012, and an entire boxed figure was valued at like 8-9 USD.
Mattel does not get out of bed for less than 33% profit.
The main change, that has been favorable to me, is that Sopinsky puts the figures at the forefront and is not there to encourage us to suck his dick, like Mr. Wrinkleshirt Silverspoons did. He also has not attempted to shoe-horn any of his vanity projects into my anus yet.

i agree, a lot of this makes no sense. the wind raider, the battle ram & the castle are all sitting there on mattycolector, unsold. it doesn't make sense to make a battle ram, after the wind raider didn't sell. it doesn't make sense to make a snake mountain when castle grayskull is not selling.
unless, they are selling just fine & they over-produced those items. but then, why on earth did they not make enough figures? or just re-issue the demanded originals? oh right, so that they can produce variants & force people to buy malibu stacy with a new hat. but this also makes no sense, as more & more people are leaving because of these tactics (& DR) & are just aging out of the market. i feel like they are shooting themselves in the foot with these shady tactics. & these tactics are not that different from before.
"hey look at these robots. don't pay attention to that thing i'm not going to mention. pretty cool huh?" it's exactly the same as when trollscrewyou would flash an image at the end of nycc or put a weapon in a case.

Point Dread has been made to help clear that overstock of Castle Grayskull (and to be the holiday item that will be priced high to bring in more money for Mattel)... guys come on who didn't see this coming? The question would be if the Talon Fighter will come with or follow now. And by no means I am not complaining as the possibility of the Talon Fighter makes the main 3 vehicles for me a possibility now... And I know the Attack Trak came before the T-Fighter but the exclusion why is because of the batteries it needed and it pretty much was a vehicle in which the play factor was limited (to an extent)...

And what colors should it come in? I'm in either way, I am usually partial to the model kit colors and versions but I'm 50/50.“What is freedom of expression? Without the freedom to offend, it ceases to exist."― Salman Rushdie

talon fighter, point dredd and teela all in one set @ $150 pice tag"
Dude, are you serious? Are they serious? That is f-u-c-k-ing insanity. I guess enough people bought the Battle Rams so they can do no wrong.
You know they are giggling, going, "Hey, you think we could push these for $200?"

1) they did not sell enough & they shouldn't make anymore vehicles or playsets - (which means this point dread is a terrible decision that will lose them money)
or
2) they sold plenty & vehicles should keep getting made. - (which means that the line is doing just fine & the 50% doom & gloom is just business as usual)

which explains why they were able to sell things at big lots instead of just putting them on matty. so it makes the "only 50%" message sound like corporate greed.

Your eyes are open. For every consumer end product unit sold, 3 Mattel pre-sale units break even.
Does the rabid fan-base bring this on themselves? Yes. Am I surprised? No.
Just don't piss on us and tell us it's raining with Voodoo Logistics and imaginary warehouse costs.
