Great video! The Hover Robots look really cool. I especially like the all-clear stands.

I need to get about four packs of these babies, but with my luck, probably they'll be gone before I even log in!... I hope Mattel made enough of these for all fans to enjoy!

Well will be initially and hopefully getting my army builder basic 6.

One thing I have to point out is the bio actually has an idea I was thinking about; although I'm not sure if it ever has been discussed before, is that the H-Bots are actually based off designs / schematics of the Horde Troopers. I knew it was always visually obvious but I like that it actually has some validity as I always felt Skeletor's army builder should be something of a magical aspect although this eases that dilemma a bit.

I always saw the potential army builders for each faction as follows: Skeletor = Magical Minions / Hordak = Tech Minions / King Hsss + Primordial (organic)

But I can see how Skeletor adopted the H-Bots as during the Great Unrest and his usurpation of Hordak he simply had the bots rewired to keep all enemies of him at bay and distracted while he attempted to complete his plans.

Nice to see a Fwoosh Video and not Val's best friend's video review. More professional.

I recall conversation about the Hover robots using Horde Trooper tech as far back as the 1990's. I'm glad this Fanon element is now Canon. Though, since these are Filmation characters, I wish The Horde Invasion still took place. It makes sense that Eternia was littered with battle damaged Horde Troopers, that Skeletor had Trap Jaw build the hover robots using scavenged parts.

I like your break down of what primary villains use as minions. Genius. I think the 200X skeleton warriors would fit that bill. My thinking is that for a new film, Skeletor might combine Horde Tech, with Eternian magic and we get cyborg zombies. But I like your idea better. I hope we get the Skeleton warriors next year.

              Thank You!

I think The Horde Invasion still takes place and definitely kind of the idea I had with Skeletor having used the scraps used to create his own legion... but NOT his only one! I like to think with Skeletor ( a combo of the magics and technology to a certain degree) is a "Master Improvisor" in which he uses anything and everything (yes that would also lead to Skeleton warriors as well) to obtain his desires. He is of the three evils the most non-traditional as he has yet to make his mark; Hss and Hordak have been... Skeletor is the now! And after New Adventures, what's to say Skeleotr's next step would have not been Cy-biez (play off your idea Sir ) since he as well felt what is was like to be half and half!

I like your reasoning and ability to look at the grand scheme of things. You make an excellent point that at different times Skeletor would use what he could at that point in the timeline. Along that line of thinking, early on he uses the various races of monsters and demons like in the UK books, (Skelcons, Orks, Trolls) and almost a decade later go's full on "Cy-biez" as you say. Perhaps by 1992 he would have been using Zords and other Japaneses robots and transformers hahaha.

i always hated that magical skeletor used robots, but i can see him using them because they were lying around & he doesn't care about them.

Exactly and that's my take on him; he doesn't care what he has to use as long as it helps him or keeps other distracted from opposing him. This is what could lead to him building bigger and various armies of all types eventually giving him that upper hand when he figures out how to put all the pieces together.

i wanted to send the organizer of a local convention a link to where it says that these are for smaller conventions but i couldn't find one anywhere, not on matty or on matty's facebook. i sent him the sale page for the robots but it's not clear on there that they are meant to be convention exclusives.
does anyone know of a better link where it's clearly stated?

After last year's cancellations, they may have severed that connection. I mean we'll have to wait & see for SDCC. But maybe you can contact the folks of Grayskullcon, I think they actually had direct communication in getting some participation.

Do we have any info yet of when they are on sale again?

If I recall correctly the SDCC Matty Sale MIGHT have them. (assuming they don't sell out at San Diego)

I picked up a set of these at the post-SDCC sale along with my Rotar & Twistoid set.

                  Just reviewed them:

Please, don't hesitate to post your reviews on your own threads, I don't think people would mind to see multiple review threads of the same figures when the traffic around the forums is a little stagnate, especially when members like you actually put the time and effort into them.

                    Nice review as usual BTW...

Finally got my Hover-Bots in the mail, and I think they turned out great. As has been mentioned before, these little guys look good displayed with both MOTUC and the vintage figures. They fit in nicely with both lines.
