Hmm, only a few of these would even be mildly interesting to me. I love Filmation, but I don't need every single two bit character on my actual shelf. I'm content to keep them two dimensional.Comment

I'll be really interested to see what they come up with. I have a hard time seeing a sub filled with stuff from that Fwoosh article going through. Masque and Dylamug, sure, but the rest aren't strong enough.Comment

To be fair, for a MOTUC: Year 8 it's a decent line-up. Seeing that we burnt through the entire Figure roster of the Original MOTU and POP (only missing 3 PoP variants)
If that was the sub, I would subscribe (unless Mattel hikes the price to $30 a figure)

Am interesting line-up, for sure. I don't see Mattel ever releasing a full year of MOTUC without at least one He-Man and Skeletor variant though. If they got the movie rights and made those versions, that would be awesome. Another posibility would be if Mattle made some of the cooler variants from 200X, like Ice Armor He-Man and Fire Armor Skeletor."We must always value life. It's not a bad starting point for discussion, but it's far too heavy on Filmation, IMO. (And it's got some factual errors--Dylamug doesn't show up in The Secret of the Sword, folks) I think we may need to accept that we'll need more variants/refreshes to keep things alive, too.Comment

This isn't the line up we are getting. 2016 is going to be "All Dare, all the time!"
We will get "Filmation" Dare... a variant of Dare how he would look if he was animated in the original Filmation cartoon (think the difference between Filmation He-Man and Skeletor and the figures... then imagine Filmation accurate figures... it would be like a Dare version of that, even though he was never in the show). Were you expecting Filmation Teela? NOPE! You get more Dare!
Then there will be 200X Dare! Stylized with the "hyper anime detail" of the 200X cartoon and toyline!
Up next is "Alcala Dare"... a version of Dare as he might have looked in the original Alcala mini comics!
Are you a fan of the '87 movie? Maybe you want to see Karg, or movie accurate versions of He-Man and Skeletor? Nope.... you get '87-movie-styled Dare! (He includes a large, specifically redesigned cosmic key that you can sit on, to recreate the feeling of being completely screwed!)
Then there will be a a pack called "The Dare Sisters." It will be 3 Dare figures, colored in the colors of the original Star Sisters toy prototypes. Disapointed in the original Star Sisters release? Did you want them in their prototype toy colors? Well, here's their colors... on Dare figures!
Then there will be "Dareko!" It's Dare reimagined to be a Trollan! (It will just be the existing MOTUC Orko's body with a "D" in place of the "O," with the upcoming Dare figure's head on it).
And the sub-exclusive figure will be "D.A.R.E. Dare!" A variant of Dare dedicated to keeping kids and Eternians off of drugs!
Oh, and each Dare figure/pack actually comes with at least two figures (in the case the "The Dare Sisters," 4 altogether), as each pack will include a Skeleteen figure! Daremo Man (who merged with keldor to become Skeledare), flocked Battle Dare with unpainted weapons, The unmighty Specdare, Sir dares a lot, (chase) Spirit of Dare, the heavily fan favored Darethu, son of Dare, intergalactic She-dare (with failmation skeleteen head and bone collar),
Rumor has it also that they are bringing back minis starting with spin blade Dare and something big....12" all black testshot Dare (w/ backwards shoulders, bonus cracked waist, & pelvis) plus 10" all black testshot battle armor Dare

I'm going to be very interested to see how they handle Dare at Mattypalooza tomorrow, because I suspect this is something Neitlich pushed in and that was too far along to scrap by the time he left, or at least they couldn't think of anything they could reasonably substitute in the time remaining.Comment

No one knows about Anti-He-Man. Brandon played it very close to the chest during the walkthrough with Pixel Dan, refusing to say anything more beyond the fact that "he exists".
Also in that walkthrough, if you read between the lines, it sounds like they wanted to pack the King Hsss 200X snake torso in with Buzz-Saw Hordak, but it turned out to be cost-prohibitive. Based on Brandon's comments, my guess would be they're still locking down plans to sell it as its own item or as part of a small accessory pack (it would be a natural combination with 200X heads for Rattlor and Sssqueeze, wouldn't it?). -
If the King Hssss's snake form comes with the 200X head pack, it would be awesome. -
Oh, I don't think it'll be part of the 200X head pack. That would annoy too many fans, and they'd know if that was happening. However, if they decide to sell it as an item, I thought they might add a couple of extras. Another possibility would be Snake Armor He-Man's shield.

I'm watching the Mattypalooza panel, and based on their comments, the Dare is based more on the Lou Scheimer Productions concept than on Neitlich's reimagining. (And the whole start of the video is very much 'new people, new approach, new start'.)Comment

Yes it looks promising that the new "team" want to be be approachable yet not too accessible, so they can now work on what they're paid to do and not trying to look for glorified stardom and ways to further their careers (which they can do behind the scenes through their product. But I still keep in mind they are all company folk so there's always that one moment when things can change so never get too jaded. I applaud this crew and look forward to making Mattycollector a success as it has made my consumption worthwhile!Comment

As part of a new line up I would have loved it if there would have been a Illumina and cat box set with the yellow flash 'as designed by Emiliano Santalucia' sticker maybe in the future :-)Comment
