So they are only making these to be available at Power Con?

If this is actually true, that is just unacceptable. What a slap in the face to us completists who would never pay to be in the same room as certain people running this event.

Anyway, if anyone is going please let me know as I want to ask that you please pick up all three items for me. I'll make it worth your while.

...not trying to be a wiseass (well, not any more than usual), but in light of his whopping three or maybe four paint apps, if anyone really wants a red Beast Man they just need to get a spare figure and some of this. Even a newbie customizer could do it in less than a day...
Not every beast is tender, especially if there is genius in his making.

Problem is, Beast Man's pretty expensive on the secondary market, last time I checked.

Doesn't matter. I want the real deals, not one that I've made. Sorry, it's a completist thing.

it's great to see Mattel backing a MOTU specific convention like this

        Cons
-it sucks that it's this particular convention run by such a ****ing scumbag who doesn't deserve any of our support
-really crappy if these are as limited as said scumbag claims they're going to be and those who want these 3 items will have to resort to scalper prices in order to get them
-too bad these are not traveling exclusives with people getting a shot at them at multiple conventions

Our best hope is that the known liar who runs this convention is simply lying yet again about the availability of these items in order to drum up ticket sales, and then after the fact, the remaining stock will show up on MattyCollector later that year in November/December.

Well it certainly isn't a good thing that these will be exclusive to this show, but I guess Mattel feels the show has supported the product and worthy of a deal. As a completist, I do not like being forced to have to go thru extra measures to get things I would like especially when my investment and money have kept the line going for so long too; but see there I start sounding like a entitled prick which may be but I simply don't mind putting money into Mattel's pocket yet when told I can't unless I do this, I wonder "How does that really do you guys good?" Anyway from what I've read Fantastic Plastic have begun to offer a method to purchase these figures and I will seek them for them assist. I'm just wondering if the charge will be figure only, or the figure and fee for attending the show...

No arguments there about who really supports the product, but I hope you got this 'gist' of it. There are many strange 'bedfellows' and yet we as fans find us chasing only more product. And trying to get into the bed as well.

I'm no great fan of exclusives, but if they must be done--and it seems to be the expected thing--this is the way I'd do them. These are pure repaints based on relatively obscure sources or differences, with little or no distinct character or story reason.

I wouldn't want to count on them being available outside Power-Con, but if they don't sell out at the convention, I expect they'll make it into online sales.

Well as you are right, that red Beastman has been a very discussed figure and Power Con wasn't dumb to snag that one and make it their own, especially after last year's failed attempt to move the show somewhere else (amidst the internal battles between former colleges which turned fans off) they needed to have that thing that would try to force people's hands and these weren't strategically the ones. Granamyr, hmmm maybe Camo Khan I have no idea of him and lukewarm interest,

This is totally unacceptable for those of us who supported the line all these years and already have spent thousands of dollars on it, and Mattel should acknowledge that!
Hopefully all those exclusives get repackaged or relabeled and get released to all fans after such conventions.

That is a good idea. I would be more than happy with a Red Beast Man and Kobra Khan "two pack" that could be sold on Matty. There should be another way for fans to get those figures. Not everyone can afford to fly out to California.

What crap. I really want a Red Beast, but not enough to pay a scalper premium. I don't mind an exclusive here or there. But it's a little messed up that both this year and last year's con exclusives were stuff the European guys wanted for years and talk about all the time... yet they're exclusive to American conventions. Let's hope Anti-He-Man isn't a Power-Con exclusive - that would be an ultimate slap in the face to the German fans.

I mean I get the sentiment from Matty, I don't think they understand the shenanigans that have been going on. He-man.org and power con isn't the same as 2010 no matter how you see the drama. Will power-con do as well after a year downtime, after all the bad drama? Doubt it, but to each their own.

what those idiots at mattel don't realize is that now we'll know what the minimum number of items are necessary for production. that's right, now the power-con people know just how many sales are needed for a production run.

I'd be willing to bet that neither Val nor anybody outside of Mattel has any insider knowledge on production numbers.

I'd also be willing to bet that come Nov/Dec next year, these figures will be easily attainable on the Matty website. Just like all the traveling con/chase figures that have come out the last few years.

...I also predict that when that happens there will be people complaining about that. They'll say "This is like a slap to the face to all the people who spent the money to make it out to Power-con". Lol

Hard to say at this point since Toy-Guru was lying through his teeth over the years, and now we have a new management which we don't know much about at this point! I still hope you're right about the availability of these exclusives after the Power-Con...

according to power-con, they pre-paid for those 3 exclusives themselves (don't ask me where a defunct con that failed last year got the money) so that's why those 3 are even being made in the 1st place. which means that power-con purchased the minimum number of items necessary for them to be produced.

and now that we know rotar & twistoid were NOT easily attainable, these power-con exclusives will create more bad-blood.

and yes, after all this talk, if the suddenly appear on matty it will be a slap to all the people who spent the money to go there. there are tons of conventions a year & people go despite the exclusives or lack thereof.

Regular Beastman and Kahn go for crazy secondary prices, imagine what these are going to go for on eBay.

If you go to the con you purchase 9 figures total, if you pay a non attendee price you can only get 3 figures total.

I feel sorry for our international brethren and already know that Scalpor is licking his chops.
