  • New Pics of Filmation He-Man!

    From our main page:
    http://www.hemanworld.com/2016/02/ne...-classics-2-0/

I like his face and how the package look in general, however I think he has some terrible looking ankle joints and boots/lower legs!!!

If most of the characters in this new line are going to suffer from these new looking joints (and the deformed forearms), I feel sorry for those of you who have subscribed, I really am!

Those ankle joints or whatever the hell they are look completely JACKED! His feet look absolutely HORRIBLE!

FFS, can't these clowns get anything right?

Seriously, now we are going to need a He-Man 3.0 because He-Man 2.0 is screwed up.

Is this purposeful or what? Part of me is starting to think so. Is it so hard to post and image of what they are thinking and ask for feedback before going through with dumb ideas like this?

Seriously, I don't understand how the design department let this happen, either they're careless and lazy, or just way over loaded with work to agree on this shit is acceptable!

Didn't notice the underdeveloped forearms because I was distracted by the hideous ankles and feet and how the face looks horrid in the package. Also I'm not sure why they chose that head position.

He also looks like an oiled up body builder.

      He-Man needs a p*ss test.

Yup, he's a bit too shiny for my taste, but that's nothing in comparison to the crappy design elements they chose to go with!

So who did the box art? That back image looks a little like an Emliano drawing (although the face is kinda jacked up too and doesn't really look very Filmation at all). Is it him?

Ugh! What the hell happened to the ankles? I really hope this figure looks better in hand.

Mattel has been striking out badly ever since SDCC 2015. Even with Kim gone, crazy crap is still going on.

I just... I can't get over those boots. What happened? Who thought that was a good design choice?

If it was the 4HM, I would assume they're losing their touch with this line, and I would be very surprised if they made such a crappy choice!

I can't blame the 4H. Just look at the He-man 2.0 prototype, the ankles & boots don't look like that.

I don't remember how the prototypes looked, so I cannot tell if this decision was made by the 4HM or not, I'm just hopping it wasn't them!

We all know by now that Mattel has the knack of butchering the 4HM's work periodically!!!

Those huge gaps at the ankle joints are atrocious. It looks cheap and ready to break the first time the joint is even touched. Makes those Bandai Thundercats figures look top notch in comparison....

          So glad I didn't sub.
Hopefully Trap Jaws feet turn out looking like the prototype because he's a must have for me.

I wonder why did Mattel decide to change to those unsightly ankles from what we saw at SDCC?

The ultimate kick in the balls is that Mattel actually had this! The figure was perfect! Messing with near perfection just creates problems when there shouldn't have been any.

So many fans came back to Classics because they want these figures. Thanks to these ankles, Mattel might be blowing ALL of the goodwill that they generated during SDCC. ThunderCats fans had their confidence shaken recently with the prices and two of their figures being removed. Now HATMOTU fans are getting let down. Way to welcome these returning fans back.

Seeing multiple review samples in hand, in natural poses and with other figures could have deflated some of the criticism we're seeing today. Pixel Dan's sample figure might not be the same as The Fwoosh or Actionfigureinsider's copy, so we can see if a problem might be an isolated incident.

Does Dan already have a review of He-man 2.0?

No. Not to my knowledge. Not yet.

Now I want to see close up pics of a production sample Lion-O before I sub. No freaking way I'm getting those figs if they're getting the same ankles as this He-man!

yup i complained about these new ankles in november & here they are. i just hope they only use them on the hmatmotu line & don't stick them in the collector's choice line.

what a terrible decision. have they never heard the phrase "if it ain't broke, don't fix it" why do they insist of wasting money on things nobody asked for?

I knew it... it is a jacked up version of an Emiliano drawing!

Very interesting!!!... I wonder if Neitlich still has his influence on Mattel's employees!

Right now, ANY of us have more influence than him. A LOT more.

I explained that in my post. It is indeed Scott Neitlich's doing, but from many years ago. They are all from the Style Guide they created with Classic Media. This is the stock art they have now, and they will keep reusing it

So ankle-gate is officially in full swing, but it's not just the weird skinny ankles. Look at his actual feet too. They look like duck feet, or like they were run over by a steamroller. Ridiculous!

Well, waiting to see this in hand. If it is as horrible as it looks in those pics, I'll pull out from the rest.

Yeah, spending the money and getting something that somehow meets you expectations is much better than spending it on something that aggravates the hell out of you!
Just be wise with your choices and decisions when it comes to Mattel.

The boots are really bad. Face turned out great. If it was me I'd just use the head on standard Classics body and call it a day. But I didn't sub and have no plans to buy these. I'm pretty much done with Classics anyway.

I'm with here BRM, however I've subbed for the Collector's Choice to continue with some of the left over NA/200X characters and the rest of the vehicles/beasts/giants...

Have you noticed from the packaging in regards to the new Filmation sub, the new line is no longer called "Classics or Classics 2.0", it's simply called He-Man and the Masters of the Universe!!!
