Well, the post comes from someone with just a handful of posts and who only joined earlier in the year. I'm not saying post count is relevant, but a few things to consider:
*This person claims to, while knowing it was wrong, sit close to them and eavesdrop on the alleged conservation. Subsequently, he wonders why no one else brought it up which doesn't make sense....were there others eavesdropping nearby as well, then, and wouldn't that be noticeable to Brandon and Scott? Big news like that, *if* true, one wouldn't sit on it for days.
*Why would Brandon leak proprietary information like that to a former employee, now VP of a competitor?
*Why would Scott say anything, potentially opening himself to trouble in the process? It is not his place as he no longer works at Mattel.
*Given all the licensed merchandise, new DC MOTU Comics forthcoming, progress on the film currently being developed, and rehaul of the Matty forums, something is most definitely up, but maybe for the better. In particular with Matty, why overhaul the forums that would only be up for a few months if the lines were going to cease? Wouldn't make financial sense.

Rumor: The End of MOTUC & Snake Mountain Cancelled?

a) Why Neitlich hasn't denied it if it wasn't true?
b) Why the moderators of that forums let the discussions take place regardless of how truthful the original post was especially knowing how they censor/delete things they don't like, and such negative news could trigger a good number of dropped subscriptions?

A lot of that would have to depend on who the person is over there who claims to have heard this. How credible is the person? After all, there are a lot of asshats over there......

If it's true, I'm done buying from Mattel.

Well, it is Mattel after all. Who knows what they're thinking at any given time. They did after all once send out cases full of just Smash Blade He-man and full cases of just Spin Blade Skeletors. Lol
I was more curious where Brian had heard it. Hopefully it didn't gather much steam

Thanks for that Mech. I'll have to check out the other thread then to see that interview.

Why would they throw in the towel over a broken sculpt? I think you can safely chalk that one up as a silly rumor.

Hopefully a rumor like that can be quickly squashed if untrue. If it is true, then ****!!!

If we don't hear anything about the progress of the line from now until the SDCC's event, I guess the end is sooner than what we thought before...
With big companies things change, almost constantly. I'm not gonna get too worried just yet.

All of this sounds like a buildup to another big "end of MOTU" pr push like a few years back. Pretend the line is in danger so everyone subs. the higher ups holding SM hostage depending on sub sales, until the fall and then have something big to reveal (snake mountain) at New York comic con. Maybe even tease the POP castle if they get enough POP buzz. This time though they can say "we never actually said that, it was all a rumor" versus getting trapped in a lie like Scott was. I know this is a very paranoid view but Mattel has actually done this several times before with this line.

From MattyCollector: Catra's Wrath's latest responses in regards to this issue:
* "There is nothing to announce for Snake Mountain at this time. As announced at the time of reveal, Snake Mountain (much like Castle Grayskull before it) would not go into production until a pre-sale period had been completed and a minimum order target requirement met."
* " There are many rumours floating around at the moment, but they are rumours and assumption. Until you hear an official statement from Mattel on any product - take things with a pinch of salt."
Hmm, still kinda vague answers in my opinion...

There is simply no evidence supporting this little panic. None whatsoever.

Maybe not, however if this was directed to the right personnel, it could show them there is still such a demand for it...

The whole concept of the Filmation style figures is to continue using the same reused molds/parts, and cancelling the old "Classics" style line won't change much of the budget if the figures keep selling well enough!
And they always can tackle the extra budgets of vehicles and playsets with pre-orders, no?

I think He-Man.org is blowing this out of proportion. I can see the Collector's line maybe ending, but the Filmation line will continue, along with the thundercats into 2017
I also see Snake Mountain happening in 2017 too.Even the Four Horsemen said they were still working on it
The clown who started the thread/rumor because he supposedly "is in the know" is just an attention *****
