cornboy's statement puts me a bit at ease, but now we have the big question: WHEN will Super7 show something (not expecting anything at SDCC) and hopefully the subs are used as they were meant to be: A tool for completists to not bother checking at one date each time there's an item on sale.I ♥ Glimmer!

No one should be forced to buy everything just to get their desired figures, ever.

Well Crespo, that's why I've suggested the pre-order model along side with the subscription model, which pretty much automatically means it's an added option for people to chose from.
But it looks like that Super7 is adopting Mattel's subscription model for now, and I hope they'd look into more options to satisfy most collectors' needs like the pre-order and Kickstarter options...

A combo of Sub + Preorders + day of sale options would be optimal.
The sub as a tool for lazy people who want all.
Preorders for those who are slightly more picky. (or subscribers who want more of a certain character for whatever reason)
Day of sales to reel in new folks or for those who want more of a character but didn't preorder.
Using a Kickstarter for the big things seems reasonable.

I agree, they don't have to stick with just one option, why should they?

So...that's that, then?
I mean, even if Super 7 picks up the torch (and guys, while I do not doubt their good intentions, let's not count those eggs before they hatch, eh?), the Mattel Masters of the Universe Classics line ends in a little over five months with...ugh...Filmation Clawful (unless you consider Club Filmation a separate animal from Classics, in which case the line ends with the Horde Wraith. Unless you consider this year an addendum to Classics, in which case the line ended with...ugh...He-Man Junior or whatever his name is).
I know I've been running the line down the last two or three years, but I never wanted to see it go out like this. This isn't even going out with a whimper, it's more of a...weak sigh? A tremulous moan? A soft fart?
We can't even pretend the line is complete: No toy versions of She-Ra or Catra (even though at least 75% of the tooling exists!), a whole slew of NA, Filmation and other media characters on the table, no meteorbs...and where the seven hells is my Stridor?
For that matter, have all subscribers ever settled with Matty over the Fisto Fiasco and at least gotten their money back?
They aren't even able to claim they are going out on high note - the most memorable products of the last couple of years include Classics Hordak in Filmation Drag (incomplete without Nope, You Can't Have It Imp), Industrial Accident Teela, Bait and Switch King Hssss and the aforementioned Nobody Asked For This Barely More Than a Variant-Man.
On one hand, I say good riddance to bad rubbish. On the other, I think "Really, Mattel? That's it? A single email and a free shipping offer? Really?" But then, I suppose it is appropriate for the end to be a mixed bag - after all, the whole journey has been since day one.
And DR, I hope you banked some of that shipping money you criminally overcharged, 'cause that gravy train is pulling out of your station.
Cheers, Matty. It's been real, and it's been fun...but it hasn't been real fun.
...all that said, thanks to Mattel for the MYP Count Marzo figure. He's not perfect, but nothing in life is.Not every beast is tender, especially if there is genius in his making.
