Not being part of the sub, they are not obligated to do anything at all with it.
For that matter, the terms and conditions of the sub probably allows them to cancel items from it, which makes me wonder if we will actually get Night Stalker or that NA centaur thing they showed us.
Not every beast is tender, especially if there is genius in his making.
Sorry, not the centaur thing, the mammoth tusk thing. Tuskador. Night Stalker was the First/Second Quarter figure and Tuskador the Third/Fourth Quarter figure (so, really, they are biannual figures, but Matty insisted on still calling them quarterly because reasons). Anyway, I have neither seen or heard of evidence that either exists in any form (not even factory protos or rejects) so I am bracing myself for the announcement that they have been cancelled. Roton was going to be an outside of sub/probably Fall/holiday offering, and I am 99% sure it is cancelled at this point because who is gonna sell it when Matty shuts down in December?
The fate of the single-carded Horde Trooper is also up the air as far as I am concerned - until they are offered for sale on Matty, I consider the existence of all of these theoretical at best.

So that's a solid "maybe," then? Look, I don't pretend to have inside knowledge, I'm just saying prepare for the worst case scenario and you won't be disappointed regardless of what happens.

I know this might sound like a broken record by now, but is there a statement somewhere that confirms Roton is still coming this year via Matty or not?
And no, Brian Flynn's video isn't clear enough, there is a possibility that he could've assumed Night-Stalker is a vehicle instead of a mechanical beasts (large figure)!
I'm totally assuming here, but based on the universal love for both night stalker and the single Horde Trooper, those are kind of the two obvious things every MOTU fan wants and will buy instantly.

I'm actually assuming that's coming- it was announced for 2016 by Mattel, right? So I assume they'll sell it before the end of the year. Isn't Matty doing everything they've said they were, just not snake mountain or anything they offered for 2017... Roton should be coming out in the fall... Am I wrong?
As of right now we have to assume it's still coming. There's been no official statement saying otherwise (yet).......
but then with Matty being rudderless, they wouldn't tell us until 3 or 4 days before it's release via email anyways.
Well here is what Org member Timmy Core has posted yesterday:
I think the 6" line will be the biggest challenge Brian and crew have ever taken on. More parts, more chances for mistakes, and a lot of planning. From my conversations with him, they are more likely to release Club Grayskull figures and not at the same rate Mattel was. It's going to be slower. Vehicles may prove to be hard for them. Lots of tooling, no reuse, and lower sales numbers. Costs will likely be an issue. But I'm hoping they take the advice of the 4H and grow with all of this!
Brian confirmed that the Roton is NOT cancelled. But future vehicles might be hard to bring to market.
Sadly we need vehicles and play sets and Super7 isn't prepared to go gung ho into that arena!
Hmmm, I hope at least Roton makes it through this year, and Stridor sometimes next year since it's almost a repaint of the Night-Stalker mold... :beasty:
Great...... More likely to make Club Graskull figures.
If that's the case, I guess more of those third party transformers made by Fans Toys will be getting my money.
Congrats to those who like the Filmation esthetic figures I guess
I have the same feeling Croc, it would be sad if vehicles and playsets aren't in their future agendas, and I'd be focusing more on LEGO and my other hobbies.
I think Roton or Jet Sled variants would probably be the only ones I'd buy multiples of, since I live in an apartment! It's a safe bet each vehicle, if made, will have some type of variant. They usually do three or more different colors of everything they make, from muscle figures to clothes. They've explained many times why they do that, and it makes perfect sense. I think in the end it will be like their vinyl toy crowd: some will like the variants, and some won't.
It's going to sell regardless. The Roton is pretty popular. It hits a lot of sweet spots. I can't see either of them not do it, when its pretty much done already.
If anyone from Super 7 is reading, and they want to do vehicles but are worried they won't sell. Just do a run of one vehicle mold in matte white and do a DIY version of it. I bet tons of people, MOTUC fans or not, will totally want one. I could see a DIY Roton being so much fun for everyone, with that face, and the molded details. And I could see the DIY version helping to make a full-on MOTU version of a vehicle possible financial wise in the 1st place.
and a variant of roton would be ok, because there is already the roton model kit with reversed colors. so it wouldn't be so bad & I would reluctantly but one.
