  • New Masterverse reveals for 2022 - Jitsu, Catra, PoP Hordak, Classic Beast Man, etc.

Just wanted to post info. on something I just read: New Masterverse villains are coming out: Jitsu, Catra, PoP Hordak (from the She-ra cartoon), Classic Beast Man, etc. Overall, these look incredible!

This looks like the official picture of Jitsu; the accessories look great.

Not too familiar with Catra, but definitely getting this as well. Solid sculpt.

The PoP Hordak looks fantastic; really like the color scheme.

The Classic/Vintage Beast Man looks amazing with this much more highly detailed Masterverse sculpt.

The only figure here I'm not planning on getting is the Skeletor from the CGI cartoon. Looks mildly interesting, but I'm not into that cartoon so will not be getting this.

Jitsu looks a little plain to me in the face, but the rest look great.

I'm surprised at how well they struck a balance. More realistic proportions, yet the paint really helps to highlight the muscles -- at least in the in-package image.

None of the Masterverse figures have looked good enough to entice me to bother with the line (and we still haven't seen the rumored Frosta figure, have we? Just placeholder/rumors?) but that 40th He-Man does look really good. I'd have to see it in person though. The pose with him holding the sword of looks amazing, but there's something off in his posture in the other figure shot.

I'm also still not wowed by the Mastervese line, I like a few figures here and there, and I might pick up a couple of characters that I'm after, but I'm passing on most of it including the 40th He-Man.

WOW! This 40th ann. Masterverse He-man may be the best He-man figure ever made - amazing! Incredible detail & accessories. And, I like the added touch of the extra hands. I suspect this will be tough to find in stores - if it's even coming to stores.

I'm being serious here. Can you explain the extra hands to me? At first I thought it would give you a left handed grip if you wanted, but they don't appear to be opposites in the image?

Honestly, if you examine the picture carefully - the extra hand on the top appears to be a right closed hand, and the open-hand on the bottom looks like a left-hand. Also, we don't know what the actual left hand (on the figure itself) looks like, since it's obscured by the shield in the box.

          Just my .02.

Upon looking at it again, I see conflicting imagery between the boxed version and the version where they have the hands laid out. The box version appears to have two open left hands. The "opened" photo appears like the left hand will grip a sword.

The Masterverse Zodac looks amazing! This was my first Vintage MOTU figure that I got back in late 1982. I like the clawed feet, which makes the character look more animalistic & is an obvious homage to the original.

The new Beast Man looks incredible as well.

The "Revelation" Masterverse figures I'm not so impressed with thus far, however the rest of the Masterverse figures are looking good, especially the New Eternia sub-line. That Beast Man looks the best IMHO.

I've heard a lot of complaining about the paint wipes on 40th anniversary He-Man. I find it very curious that BBTS sent me an e-mail saying it was available, and the link is dead and you can't find the figure in a search either.

Not that I'm implying either fact has anything to do with the other, although it would be cool if they listened to feedback and fixed the paint before shipping.

I'm not a fan of the shoulder pauldrons or the translucent treatment on the red in general, but I really like this take someone did recently:

Allegedly, just a parts swap (my favorite type of custom because of its durability, typically), but I'm not that familiar with the Classics line to figure out the recipe.

Recently got the New Eternia Beast Man. Incredible sculpt, and this can easily be modified to become a Vintage/Classic Beast Man. It's nice that this & some of the other Deluxe Revelations/Masterverse figures are not that difficult to find in stores.

Agree that the Masterverse Zodac is incredible. It's probably my favorite Zodac sculpt - excellent figure. Hope to be able to get this soon as well.

I'm happy for you seeing you enjoying these figures...
I only have Trap Jaw thus far, and I'm playing to get Man-E-Faces when he's out... I'm not totally convinced about collecting this line, but I might get certain Multiverse 3D Netflix figures due to their wackiness/uniqueness in this 7' scale.

My preference isn't for articulation, but even so, I'm still impressed by how this like looks -- really good proportions, more believable yet still strong. And am I seeing it correctly, that each material is its own plastic? I've thought a lot about employing such a method in my eventual 3-D printing.

Fantastic! This new Masterverse Man-e-faces looks incredible!!! Great sculpt, and I like the laser pistol - which resembles the original, but not quite. Also, this version includes a suit-case full of alternate faces, something no previous version has included. This somewhat reminds me of the original Zartan: Master of Disguise G.I. Joe ARAH figure (1984); that figure had a suitcase with an alternate face mask. Nice "homage" - if that's what this is.

I am especially intrigued by the light blue face mask; the purple/white face mask w/green eyes; and the skull mask.

This new version gives the 200X MOTU Man-e-faces a run for it's money; up to this point, that had been my favorite version of the character.

I'm glad that you like him.

I like him as well, but I still prefer the Classics version the best; out all the renditions we've seen for this character in a toy form! He is a bit flat looking here and less organic IMHO, but I'll be getting him no doubt.

At first I wasn't too sure of the gray hands and shoulders, but now it's growing on me a little... As for the case/suitcase, it probably acts as a shield as well... Here are a couple more images I found:

I myself think that the drum that rotates will allow 3 faces to snap on and off, this way you can choose any combination of faces you’d like to use on Man-E.
The rotating mechanism is still there from what I can tell from those pics.

Yes, the more I look at this - I think that makes sense. I guess I was thinking of the way the feature worked in the old Zartan G.I. Joe & the 6" Hoth Rebel soldier figures. But, you're right - there would be no reason to have the rotating mechanism on top of the head unless it were functional - like the previous ones.

Yes, I guess the blue helmet/bucket is removable (Similar to the Classics version), then you can snap the faces you choose on the grey drum, which is also attached to the purple knob after putting the blue helmet back on!

Recently got the Masterverse PoP Hordak. This is a superb figure, and truly gives the Origins version a run for it's money. Really like the sculpt, colors, and accessories. It's much more than just a variant of the original Hordak; it's a completely different figure. Nice.

I was never a fan of She-ra back in the day & never collected the toys (I felt they were only for girls ATT). However, with this recent purchase & with some other interesting PoP figures being released either now or in the future (She-ra, Catra, Frosta, etc.) I will definitely be collecting some of these.

I'm not into POP either but I think this sub-brand has some potential mostly in the Masterverse line more than the Origins line IMHO, but you'll never know what Mattel is gonna do with this property in the future!
I'm glad that you liked your purchase here, but this iteration of Hordak never really appealed to me even though I really like his robotic head! But as an action figure with all those accessories, I think he's a good toy.

Recently picked up the 40th Anniversary Masterverse He-man. Wow. What a truly superb figure. IMHO this is the definitive version of Classic He-man. Amazing sculpt with incredible articulation; great facial expression that brings to mind the '82 mini-comic "Savage" He-man; alternate hands; and, fantastic weapons/accessories - i.e., the battle-axe; power sword; and shield.

I'm glad I passed on the regular Masterverse/Revelations He-man when it came out last year - because this 40th Ann. version blows it out of the water.

New 2023 Masters Of The Universe Masterverse Figure Listings Pop Up On Amazon

El Cofre Geek lets us know about several listings that have popped up on Amazon Mexico for four new Masters of the Universe Masterverse figures that look to be coming from Mattel sometime in 2023. The listings are as follows:

Masters of the Universe Masterverse Prince Adam - It's not known if this will be based on Revelation, CGI Netflix or be a New Eternia version.

Masters of the Universe Masterverse New Eternia Buzz-Off

Masters of the Universe Masterverse Horde Skeletor - This is likely based on a flashback scene in the Revelation series

Masters of the Universe Masterverse Classic Mer-Man - This is likely based on the characters more classic look from the Revelation series.

When more details or they get officially announced by Mattel we will be sure to update you. Note the images below are for reference purposes only.

Masterverse Zodac hasn't appeared in my neck of the woods but I'm seeing him on Mattel Creations.

Don't know how long he's been there, I don't go there a lot, but he does have a "new" tag on the screen.

I got the excellent Masterverse Zodac from Amazon a while back; I think the price has gone up since then. It's definitely one of my top #5 figures in this line. Superb sculpt, and hands-down my favorite version of the character. Really like the clawed feet, outfit, and weapons/accessories. Fantastic.
