  • MOTUC mini-comic question?

I asked a question over at the org a while ago, "what would the org's policy be on showing the now released new mini comics that came with King He-Man, Snake Man-at-Arms, etc." As they have a very large back catalogue of the old one for all to see, and Val answered, I can't remember his wordage but it was a no! Or when Mattel says it's ok answer..… so now the same question here. I'd love to read them but I just can not justify the over inflated prices on eBay, and in my mind what harm is it going to do, new art and comics (even if there bad) just make me more excited for the line. As an artist I do understand not messing with people's property, but as the comics are out there already, would this site be in trouble with Mattel for doing so?

The current mini-comics that are being sold with the MOTUC figures can not be posted on these forums. There are customers still buying the figures from Mattycolletor.com that come with those comics. It wouldn't be appropriate to post those comics while the figures are still being sold, and Mattel would most like take issue with us if they were posted.

I do have to slightly disagree as those figures (T-Punch He-Man, S-Man-At-Arms D-Blast Skeletor) are not available anymore on mattycollector.com (well except for The UNO and if you didn't buy the sub last year [King He-man's book]...) and pretty much just the secondary market. But I guess if the org wants to remain on good terms with Mattel they have to respect their wishes and requests. But I also have the belief that it may cause the org problems with the publishers who worked on the books in conjunction with Mattel (Dark Horse and DC) may take some issues with the distribution.

So long as the current toy line is in production, we won't be posting any of the new mini-comics. If Mattel is fine with fan sites posting their new mini-comics once the MOTUC toy line is out of production, like they are with fan sites posting the vintage mini-comics, we might post them. Even so, we would only post them in an art archive section, and not on the forum itself.

What Captain said. Especially now that Scott confirmed there will be more mini-comics. But I reckon after the line is done, the mini-comics will be available more readily.

Besides there are international sites that have scanned them (and translated too), plus couple facebook-groups where people scanned some of the mini-comics. You can find a whole lot stuff if you just search for it.

Or like Widukind said, there are other options too.

Let me know which mini-comics you are missing. I might have an extra one or two copies that I can mail to you to keep. Send me a PM.

What about vintage materials o captain my captain? Can we link to and discuss linking to them since most of that stuff is on the .org anyway? I'm sure somebody knows of where some .cbr/.cbz files of all thous individuals (and out of sequence...) scanned pages for easy viewing.

Eventually, we will be looking at posting vintage mini-comics in the Archives section. We are still working on setting that feature up for the site.
