  • NYTF 2014 - MOTUC Bios!

Here are the newly released bios from the NYTF 2014

Blade - Evil Master of Swords
    Real Name: Ritter

A pirate from the Kylax system, Blade arrived on Eternia in a spell of light cast by Skeletor to increase his forces. Agreeing to join the Overlord of Evil for the right price, Blade sold his services and took part in the Second Ultimate Battleground, fighting blade to blade with He-Man himself at the top of Viper Tower. He later traveled with a small renegade party, paid to seek the Cosmic Key from its inventor. Although he failed in this mission, his deadly mastery of the sword has left his mark, becoming one of the most wanted men in Eternian history. Blade uses his dual swords to battle heroic warriors - for the right price!
    Scorpia - Stinging Horde Enforcer
    Real Name: Lynda D'ream

After watching Hordak ruthlessly take over the Kingdom of Brightmoon, Scorpia chose to surrender her Crimson Waste fiefdom to the new conqueror, hoping it was better to keep Hordak as an ally than an enemy. She is a member of the Scorpioni, a race of female dominant warriors with claw like hands and stinging armored tails. While a cunning warrior, she is inept in magic, always preferring hand-to-claw combat with her foes. Occasionally she uses a powerful tank called the Crawler which blasts sleep rays and sting lasers. When Hordak abandoned Etheria for a planet with greater natural magic, Scorpia stayed behind to rule her desert kingdom and hoping one day all of Etheria itself!
Double Mischief - Glamorous Double Agent.
    Real Name: Rebekkah Kettle

Heroic cousin of Glimmer, Rebekkah is a princess from the Eternian Kingdom of GreenGlade. After her home was overrun by the Horde invaders, she joined the Great Rebellion, using her forte for disguise to become a double agent in the armies of Hordak. She is very dexterous and can squeeze herself into almost impossibly tiny spaces and climb the sheerest walls to carry out her missions. She is not much of a fighter, but her agility makes her a good dodger. No disguise is beyond her powers. She can look like an aged king at one moment or a Horde villainess the next. She can also hange her voice to suit her disguise as well, often talking herself out of the tightest situations. Double Mischief fools her enemies as a spy for She-Ra!
Goat Man - Horn Headed Servant of Beast Man
    Real Name: Klacky

A member of the G'hoat men from the Northern Mountains, Klacky's species is one of the only intelligent humanoid upright races that falls subjective to the hypnotic powers of the Beast Men. And like most of his species, Klacky was captured by the rulers of the Vine Jungle and simply called "Goat Man" by his beastly masters. Eventually he found himself in the services of Raqquill Rqazz and was forced to serve in the Second Ultimate Battleground. Here he was severely wounded by Buzz-Off and left at the foot of Central Tower. Crawling inside, Klacky fell into a time portal and was transported into the future, arriving on Eternia when King He-Man ruled the land and his son Dare wielded the Power Sword. Forced to serve on aging Beast Man in this new time, Goat Man is forever following whatever evil orders he is given.
    Kowl - The Know-it Owl
    Real Name: Kowl

Kowl, the know-it-all owl of Etheria is a great friend and ally to She-Ra. He can answer all questions asked of him. After his tribe was attacked by Horde invaders, he allied with the Great Rebellion and is a particular close friend of the arrow-man Bow.
Loo-Kee - Hides and Sees All in Etheria
    Real Name: Petraut Edeltran

Loo-Kee is a humorous Etherian cherub imp from deep within Whispering Woods. He travels throughout Etheria and watches out for She-Ra and her friends. He is always on the side of the forces of good yet never never participates in an open conflict. His powers were bestowed to him by Lighthope allowing him to hide out and alert his friends to danger. He enjoys telling stories with morals to ensure a tale's full value and clarity is understood by all. Watch out! You never know where he might be hiding!

LOL! Yeah, Scooter definitely sits there and just makes up gibberish to use as real names. What a great job he has.

So, Loo-Kee never participates in open conflict, but alerts his friends when there is danger? WTF?

Kowl can answer all questions asked to him? I bet he doesn't know how many licks it takes to get the the tootsie roll center of friggin a tootsie pop.

G'hoat Men... That's pretty clever. ... ... NOT! And he fell into a time portal. Holy Sh@t... why am I not surprised.

Lynda D'ream? Dude, M'aybe it's time for y'ou to find a new j'ob... oh wait, writing really isn't your job but you pretend it is.

But wait... you forgot to mention that Blade went through a time portal too. Hell, maybe all the characters in the line just decided to go through a time portal. I wish Scott Neitlich would go through a time portal.

He said that Lynda D'ream was an acknowledgment to one of the voice actresses! Yeah, what a prefect name for a humanoid scorpion on Etheria!!!

Linda Gary was the voice actress for...well, basically every female in the Filmation He-Man cartoon at one point or another (with Erica Scheimer playing some one-off characters and occasionally Queen Marlena) and many of the She-Ra characters, including Madame Razz and, yes, Scorpia. She passed away in 1995 of cancer, but some of her voice tracks for the Fox animated Spider Man series (she played Aunt May) were recorded so far in advance that she continued to get actiing credits well into 1997.

It is nice that the current brand manager finally decided to acknowledgement someone who contributed a great deal to the mythos, although I admit it is rather ham-handed (but then, pretty much all the "real names" are awful). We should just be grateful her "real name" isn't "Scottina Yr'Lucky't'ven'gt'hr W'hiners" or something.

So Scorpia is a member of the Scorpioni? Lame! Adding an I or Y to a noun does not make it cool, and adding an apostrophe to a name doesn't make it MOTU- Lyndra D'ream? I don't get it.

These bios are so clumsy, and devoid of any real imagination, interest, and integrity. I swear Scott pens these things in his pajamas on Friday night, emails them to the graphics department and come Monday morning he approves the bubble and tells himself how great he is.

I embrace, Filmation, mini comics, 200x and even NA as different canons of MOTU. I do not accept the drivel in this bios. Everything about them is clumsy, and the vocabulary is laughable. "The arrow-man" Bow? How about 'heroic archer'? How about something other than a time portal?

Seriously, these bios stink. They have stunk since the beginning of the line and will continue to reek until someone else steps in. I see fans that ooze talent and creativity, and instead its this smug, smhuck that gets to adorn the packaging with his dreary crap.

When I began creating my own universe, I penned a 'Mary Sue', and yes my main protagonist shared my own name. I quickly accepted that my name, really wasn't that interesting, and if I were to be taken seriously (even by myself) I'd have to actually get creative and produce better material. I knew this at 15.

I like the name Ritter for Blade. Ritter (German for "knight") is the German equivalent of an hereditary knight. I hope that Gary Goddard or Anthony De Longis were approached when it came time to name the character. Either way, Ritter is a good fit for the character.

After reading these bios, let's say I'm happy I don't give a crap about them, 'cause that's exactly what they are : crap.

I had fun knowing that Goat Man, Beast Man and Blade "make it" into the future... Time portals seem to abound, on Eternia. And time travelling seems to be a hobby, there !

How I wish Neitlich would fall into a blackhole ! Unfortunately the only "black hole" he fell into - at birth ! - was the void of his own brain...

To this day, I think that this man should stick his head out of another kind of hole too...

Be sure to add this bio to his IMBD page or on Wikipedia.

I'm not a professional writer by any stretch, but these bios are so clumsy. We know that Blade is hired muscle, and yet we are reminded twice that he is paid to do everything. We got it the first time. Also there was an attempt to reference the 87 film and bridge the mythos, and it was poorly written. This is my rewrite.

Blade - Evil Master of Swords
            Real Name: Ritter of Kylax

A notorious pirate from the Kylax system, known for his swordsmanship and brutality in battle, Blade's reputation captured Skeletor's interest. Seeking to bolster his forces, Skeletor opened an inter-dimensional gateway to recruit the villain. Agreeing to join the Overlord of Evil for the right price, Blade sold his services, leading Skeletor's forces in the Second Ultimate Battleground, fighting blade to blade with He-Man himself at the top of Viper Tower! Utilizing speed, cunning, Blade attacked the strongest man in the universe with all he could muster, only to discover that he had met his match! Infuriated by his defeat, Blade swore that he alone would defeat He-Man. Skeletor promised the Sword of Power to Blade as a trophy, should he be successful in completing his task. During Skeletor's brief occupation of Castle Grayskull, Blade again traveled through an inter dimensional gateway with a small renegade party, seeking the Cosmic Key from its inventor. Although he failed in this mission of obtaining the key, he killed many guardians in the strange alien world. He-Man could not allow the scoundrel to go unpunished for his deeds, and thus the deadly mastery of the sword has left his mark on the heart of Eternia's hero, becoming one of the most wanted men in Eternian history.

I'm still not down with the real names for most MOTU characters, but this one has a better ring for me.

            Scorpia - Stinging Horde Enforcer
            Real Name: Lyndra Dreel

A member of the Crimson Wastes tribes, Lyndra Dreel rose to power by assassinating the leader of her people, and enslaving anyone who would date to question her rule. She became known as Scorpia, a fowl traitor in the eyes of her enemies. During the Horde's invasion, Scorpia was terrified at the thought of losing her desert empire to the ruthless Hordak. Scorpia chose to surrender her Crimson Waste fiefdom to the new conqueror, hoping it was better to keep Hordak as an ally than an enemy. She pledged her loyalty to the dark wizard, and in return he granted her a new form that would allow her to crush all those who would oppose the Horde. Dark magic transformed the woman into a twisted arachnid warrior. Cunning and cruel, Scorpia did not disappoint her new master, as she used her frightening powers to enslave the people of Eternia. When Hordak abandoned Etheria for a planet with greater natural magic, Scorpia stayed behind to rule her desert kingdom, and one day of Etheria itself!

Kettle? Kettle?! Was Scott sitting in his kitchen, eating biscuits when he whipped up this one?

Double Mischief - Glamorous Double Agent.
            Real Name: Rebekkah Le'Blanche

Intelligent, charismatic and resourceful, Rebekkah is a cousin of Glimmer, and the Princess of the Etherian Kingdom of Green Glade. After her home was overrun by the Horde invaders, she made a pact with Hordak to spare her people. Clever enough to fool even the dark wizard himself, in an act of perfect deception, she became a double agent in the armies of the Horde- secretly reminaing a spy for the Great Rebellion- keeping the rebel forces one step ahead. While not possessed of the mystical arts, or She-Ra's strength, Rebekkah was trained by a great fighting master and illusionist to be nimble, and quick, outwitting her enemies and seemingly disappearing at will. She is very dexterous and can squeeze herself into impossibly tiny spaces, climb the sheerest walls, and confound even the sharpest of Horde Lieutenants and Interrogators to carry out her missions. No disguise is beyond her unique skills. She can look like an aged king at one moment, or a Horde villainess the next. She can also change her voice to suit her disguise as well, imitating anyone in the ranks of the Horde to suit her needs- creating dissent and mistrust amongst Hordak's elite. Double Mischief plays a major role in the protection of Etheria- though few will ever know the truth of this walking shadow.

These bios are WAY BETTER than those created for MOTUC, Sky Runner ! Also, I liked the French-inspired name for Double Trouble/Mischief... "Kettle" is a name that reminds me a bit too much the fact that Double Trouble has a some kind of "pot helmet" on her head, a flat face and a waffle collar...

Thanks guys. I will apologize for anything directed at anyone here, sometimes the complaining gets to be a bit much and its tiresome. It would be nice if we could focus on the love of this line and its characters. That's what I'm here to do and why I left that other forum. I have my issues with TG but I'd like that not to be what keeps me coming back. Nothing that I have done isn't anything you could do. It doesn't take a great writer to create a half way decent bio.

Bah, I used to get upset or disappointed at these things. Since I don't like the bios, as they're very poorly thought out and written, I simply ignore them completely. I'm much happier person now.

Here is another that I felt I should share. I removed the whole time portal thing (since we have all had enough of the time portal co-op), I wanted to make Goat-Man both a victim, and a potential menace. His name was a joke. Klacky? Oh boy...

Goat Man - Horn Headed Servant of Beast Man
                Real Name: Kylux Klaxx

A member of the reclusive and feared Kaprabrians, from the Northern Mountains, Kylux's primitive species is one of the only intelligent humanoid upright races that falls subjective to the hypnotic powers of the Beast Men. For thousands of years, the Kaprabrians, have been enslaved by he rulers of the Vine Jungle, as forced laborers and guardians of their territories. Dubbed "Goat Man" by his beastly masters, eventually he found himself in the services of Raqquill Rqazz and was forced to serve in the Second Ultimate Battleground. Placed in the vanguard as a pawn, Beast-Man sought to soften the Defenders by unleashing Goat-Man's rage upon them, so that he could be the one to deliver the victory sealing blow to He-Man, and appease his master Skeletor. During the fight, Goat-Man was severely wounded by heroic high flying Buzz-Off, dropped from a staggering height at the foot of Central Tower. Broken and disoriented, he crawled inside the mystical walls of the Tower, and was temporarily freed from the influence of his master. Luckily he was able to escape and disappear. Seeking to ally himself with any powerful Sorceror whom could permanently free him and his people from the curse of their mental enslavement to the Beast Men. No stranger to brutality and violence, and possessed of demon red fur, and powerful horns, he is a terrifying sight to behold. Goat-Man, will do anything it takes to ensure his freedom and vengeance. He loathes Beast-Man and if the fates be just, he will one day hear his former master speak his real name, for the first and final time.
PS: How does everyone feel about Beast-Man being from a race called Beast Men? I think something better could have been cooked up.
                Kowl - The Know-it Owl
                Real Name: Kowl

Kowl, the know-it-all owl of Etheria is a trusted friend and valuable ally to She-Ra. This diminutive creature is the perfect spy for the Great Rebellion. He has above average human intelligence, and possessing the keenest eyesight of all known species on Etheria, there is nothing that escapes Kowl. With his ability to fly, little happens without his knowledge. His curious mind compels him to read, and gather information through the stories and myths from all people and creatures across Etheria. Often mistaken as a lowly pet by the dull scoundrels that victimize the people of Etheria, he uses their ignorance to secure information. He is a fountain of knowledge, seemingly able to answer all questions asked of him- though not without unwarranted, and sometimes scathing humor, and for this Kowl sometimes appears to regard himself as superior to his human companions, however he has a gentle heart. When not aiding She-Ra in dire situations, he keeps watch over the poor and the innocent, ensuring that no one is forgotten during the war with the Horde. After his tribe was attacked by Horde invaders, he allied with the Great Rebellion, growing a particular affinity for the arrow-man Bow, whom he enjoys jesting."
