  • Scorpia Thread

Here's some pictures of SCORPIA from the Fwoosh.
"I'll getcha, muscle man!" Say what you will about Hordak; he might be an intergalactic despot whose primary focus is conquering planets to enslave the native populace under his fascist boot, but at least he is an equal opportunity employer. Let's face it, Skeletor only lets one female prowl

I think she looks good. I think I can see what people are talking about with her crotch piece... it looks flared out and should be curved in to show more inner thigh. IDK... If I can deal with Glimmer's flap, I can deal with Scorpia's shell pants.

Looks awful to my eyes, but I must admit it is slightly more passable only because she had the odd panty+side armor thing going on to begin with, so somewhat open to interpretation? Bah...I can't defend it.

Meh... it looked something else in that NYCC video from Pixel-Dan, the crotch flap is huge... I wonder how that doesn't hinder articulation...

So now we are behind 4 reviews by Pixel-Dan.

Is it possible that Scorpia HAS BEEN RUBENIZED???

You got to expect every figure to be Rubenized, some more than others...

"Yeah... I really hope it won't hinder the articulation. I really hate when figures are ruined by Reuben."

What's funny is that they abuse the "hindering of articulation" as an excuse, but when it comes to bulky armors or huge flaps - which hinder arm and leg movement - they seem to forget about it. I call that being dishonest.

He Rubenized her crotch, that sick *******!!!... Otherwise she looks cool enough to join her evil bodies.

BTW, is she the last of the remaining Horde females? I hope she is, because the sooner we finish with the Horde faction the better.

After Scorpia, there's only Entrapta left in the Horde's remaining female characters...

Unfortunately, the only thing Reuben is good at, is to destroy the Four Horsemen's great prototypes ! Let's wait and see...

Thanks, and I really hope she won't show up in the Etheria sub, because I'm not subbing this time around.

Here is Pixel-Dan's review, I think she is one of the better figures, and her crotch piece isn't too bad either:

I'd give credit for this figure if the Blade figure didn't tick me off so much.

More articulation in the tail would have been nice, but I worry that they would have screwed it up, and we would have ended up with a figure that didn't look as nice.

Overall, I am very happy with the final look of this figure. I was pretty disappointed when I saw the initial figure a few months ago, but it looks like they found I way to fix the issue.

Hasbro is even cheaper than Mattel is! Hasbro just has bigger balls when it comes to taking risks.

Also, that's a retail line figure. Bigger budget and all, since it was released during a Spider-Man movie year...IF I'm recalling correctly. Tarantula was part of the same Wave...

I just don't care that the Venom figure is a retail line figure or not ! I really don't give a f**k ! I want to have nice figures for the hard earned money I spend, that's all ! I'm not a manager, and I don't care about the industry ! The ONLY important thing about my toys is the quality of the figures I buy !

Clearly, Scorpia was botched, when she could have been perfect. Her sculpt is spot-on, but once again, she's totally lacking in the quality department !

Well I have to admit that I went for Scorpia, after checking her out a bit more I'm willing to give it the benefit of the doubt since the head sculpt is indeed awesome. If I like it once in hand I'm going to re-build my Evil Horde faction containing the sinister five from Earl Norem's poster along with the three main girls from Filmation. I still have Mantenna and Modulok boxed as well as Shadow Weaver so it should be easy to get the remaining baddies.

And here's hoping for a killer Slime Pit set to embellish the display or - better yet - an amazing rendition of the Fright Zone by the Four Horsemen, a guy can dream can't he?

If you're referring to who I think you are, let's just say I might have more figures bought with my own money that said individual may have bought with his.

Really looking forward to this one arriving and hope to have her before the end of the month. Thankful that this one went from prototype to production without cheapening the final product too much.

Glad you like her. As long as she isn't as dark a red as shadow weaver it won't bother me much.

Yeah, some of her scorpion armor/elements were a bit too maroonish/pinkish in color to my surprise, and the online pics presented her in a brighter reddish scheme!... But overall, she remains one of the coolest female figures we had thus far.

having her in hand...she is as close to perfect as I think we are going to get. Her skirt drapes better like we have been asking for...yet her "skrt" isn't symmetrical aAHAHAHAHAHA

No, actually...this isn't something people are comfortable talking about, but the Horsemen have always had a real problem sculpting anything symmetrical. They just can't do it, apparently. Its been a problem throughout their work for years, not just with Mattel or MOTUC product.

I think I see what you're talking about, on my figure:

Leaves some of the joint exposed.

Anyhow, that is really the only negative I can find about this figure. THIS IS A GREAT FIGURE. Here are a few more pics:
