  • Mega Construx Talon Fighter and Point Dread

The Power and the Honour Foundation posted on their Facebook page a pic of Mattel setting up for SDCC and there’s a Talon Fighter and Point Dread right beside Mega Construx Castle Grayskull.

Nice. I also hope we get to see more vehicles and characters soon that are easier to purchase without relying on those eBay scalpers.

Hey Mech, do you ever get the feeling it’s just you and me around here? lol

It’s a good thing we get along and respect each other’s opinions.

Thanks for nice words, but yeah, it’s sad to see people abandoning forums like this one and relying more on other social media outlets.

Screw other social media outlets. Lol.

Yeah, me too. Looking forward to see all that Mattel has to offer regarding MOTU!

So I see new awesome minifigures and a Panthor fig here as well. The Talon head design on the other hand looks a little disappointing to me, definitely could've been a bit better, probably some printed eyes/details would fix it easily without relying on a better brick design:

            More awesome pics at Toyark:

Masters of the Universe is coming back to Mattel in a big way. At San Diego Comic-Con 2019 they unveiled their new MOTU Origins 5.5" Figures, with more debuting later this week. They also had a large amount of MOTU Mega Construx on display. See those photos after the jump.

This afternoon I finally found the time to build mine. I was kinda surprised how intricate it was for it's size!... Lots of small pieces and surprisingly way more spare parts that were left over than I've anticipated, and for a moment I thought that I've skipped a few steps somewhere along the way which is an extreme rarity for someone who's an experienced builder like I am, or there were some missing pages, but everything was in place as it should, and Mega Construx just gave me that many extra pieces in the set that I have!?
But I need to mention that there were extra parts to assemble the Point-Dread on Castle Grayskull (which also I still need to build BTW) if you have one in your collection.

A few basic play features as expected, 3 cool mini figures, a white Zoar, a weapons rack with weapons and a Panthor (with a repainted Battle-Cat helmet if you wanted one), however the Talon's perch over the Point Dread doesn't spin.

Volume wise you'd think it's a small set for the price, but it's a lot of pieces in there. I'd recommend getting one especially if you find it discounted.

Neat. I’m holding out for a discount. So for the price has only dropped $5 here. As much as I would like to get it, $55 before taxes is too much for me, as I think I’d rather have that money go towards an Origins Castle Grayskull.
but who knows, I did get the Mega Construx Wind Raider at half price. Maybe I’ll luck out again

Amazon in the US is selling it now for around $35.00, so check yours and Walmart as well.

Just looking back at some of the old pics in this thread, I notice the Alcala power sword the mini comic Prince Adam is holding.
I’ve got to say I’m becoming a big fan of this new regime handling MOTU. Alcala love, mini comic love, vintage toy love. Its great to see merchandise from all corners of MOTU.

I was so sick of the dark days when things like licensed t shirts were only Filmation. And the amount of .orgers going on and on how “if it wasn’t for the cartoon, MOTU would have failed right out of the gate” despite the fact the toy line was already selling well before the first episode aired. But that’s typical from over there, nothing like vomiting out ‘facts’ about a hypothetical....

I agree, people who grew up on Filmation either don't know how big MOTU was in so many foreign countries around the world that didn't run the Filmation series (or even TV commercials), or they don't wanna admit the toy line and the supplemented mini-comics, and the word-of-mouth among the kids were pretty much the initial drive behind the line's success.
