  • Mega Construx collector's series Battle Cat?!

I don't know if this is Mega Construx's attempt on the ultimate collector series (UCS) for MOTU or not, but this was part of Mattel's presentation (I think?):

That doesn't look good. In my opinion.

Makes NOT want to buy Mega Construx.

Hmm, he's a buildable model, not the typical minifigre in the line or an action figure. If you're not into brick building toys like LEGO, he's probably not the type of toy you're after!

As a brick toy specialist myself, I think he looks decent (but not great) for this scale; considering the common traditional pieces he's using. I must say though, the rendering here makes him look a bit broken and angular than what the real model actually is!

Mech, do you have any idea on what the size might be of this Battle Cat? I’m unfamiliar with the ultimate collector series

From that pic, it's about 6-9 inches long and about 5" high.

The UCS is a collector's line from LEGO that has started with the Star Wars brand back in 2000 with the X-Wing and Tie Interceptor as first models, but those are sizable sets, and rather expensive. Of course they've done many models and sets since then with different scales, but some of them are huge, and we're talking here in the territory of MOTUC Castle Grayskul and Snake Mountain in terms of length and width!

I dig that, actually. Less concerned with accomplishing a "finished" look than in a creative build, resulting in a sort-of impressionist sculpture of Battle Cat. Here's hoping I can get it without bending over backwards...
Not every beast is tender, especially if there is genius in his making.
