  • "Dirty Dancing" He-Man & Skeletor – New Advert from MoneySuperMarket

An epic new commercial from MoneySuperMarket brings back He-Man and Skeletor, but this time partners them in a dance tribute to the 1987 film Dirty Dancing! The commercial is directed by The Bobbsey Twins From Homicide.

The hilarious advert sees He-Man enter a bar where he encounters Skeletor, but instead of fighting, the arch-enemies take to the dance floor as the song plays. The Masters of the Universe then recreate the dance moves from the Dirty Dancing movie, in celebration of the 30th anniversary of the film’s release.

Check out the awesome video below!

I was waiting for you to post this on the forums, so I can post this video I found in Spanish (subtitled in english BTW) on how they did the suits and the makeup for both characters:

If there is ever a MOTU movie, they might be able approach most of the characters in that manner, and clean it up with CGI effects IMHO.

It is cute for a commercial, and might work for some secondary background characters, but I wouldn't want to see He-Man and Skeletor in muscle suits like this for a movie.

It all depends on how muscular the main actors are!

I'd rather see good actors in muscle suits over buff junkies with no acting abilities if the budget requires it.

You will never see a mainstream actor wearing a muscle suit in a major role. We've all seen the transformations that actors like Hugh Jackman and Chris Evans go through to play their superhero roles. The studio will pay for a trainer to get whoever plays He-Man looking like He-Man.

If this proves anything, it's that the Dolph Lungren He-man hair style is the correct one to use instead of classic dutch boy paint mode.
