Well, the main things in this trailer that sell it as a MOTU flick, is the He-Man-esque dude with a giant green tiger, the skull face demon we know as Skeletor, Castle Grayskull, and maybe the Trap-Jaw character on steroid and the android Orko, but everything else looks almost completely different!
They are trying something new and trendy for the kids, and if it flops it flops, and if it succeeds, that's great for property!
That said, you always can critique the show in a proper way without playing the sex/feminism/woke card over and over again, it gets old you know! So what if there is a character that has a blue hair, seriously?... As if he's still living in the 30's or 40's! And yet he's the host of a pop-cultural YT channel, go figure!!!

They rather lost track of the narrative. Relevalations is disappointing because it was supposed to be a continuation of the original mythology - specifically Filmation - but failed at virtually every level to follow or even give a passing nod to *any* version of the mythology, not to mention being frankly disrespectful of both established characters and old school fans. This is supposed to be an all-new take on the mythology, so being disappointed that it does not slavishly mirror any of the old media is kinda...well, ignorant.

I'm not a fan of this new take on He-Man. I often hear people saying that this is being created "for the kids", but I never believe it. To me, it is 'creatives' just trying to leave their mark on the property, and more often than not, they fail. To me, it feels more like vandalism... they can't create something original, so they take something old and try to give it a new spin.“We change people through conversation, not through censorship." ― Jay Z

I remember when everyone hated the Clone Wars animated series when it first launched, and that series ended up one of the most popular series for the Star Wars brand that lasted for like 12 years or so!... So you'll never know sometimes!

I've watched 5 episodes so far, and despite being a show aimed at kids, it's actually very good IMHO.
The animation is very polished and also very Sci-fi heavy! The music score is very good, the acting is smart, whimsical and well paced, (Reminded a bit of the Marvel Thor movies at times) the writing is a lot better than what I've expected to be honest, and the story is not rushed like the other show was. and yet captivating; thus far!
The style of the show reminded of the typical Dreamworks material mixed with Lucasfilms Animations if that makes any sense to you?!
Overall it's a lot more enjoyable for me than Revelation, however this is not the MOTU we're accustomed to/with, it felt to me more like watching Guardians of the Galaxy on a space aged Eternia, however you'd be surprised of the source material being amalgamation of different things you've seen or read in the past!
The most surprising thing for me was; me enjoying Battle Cat/Cringer's character talking!

Watched whole first season in couple days during this week. My criticism is some bigger changes on some characters. Also some character design not work for me, but fine voice acting overall and continuing story mostly between episodes. Also rather few characters so far. So I think character list not going be growing much following seasons if there be many coming. Overall I do reccomend this series and waiting second season.

I've finished watching the whole season today.. An interesting little ride I must say!
I didn't mind the remakes in some of the characters or even establishing some new ones, but I think they went a bit too far with the transformation/powering up elements on some of the characters as I was reminded a little with some of those goofy Anime shows from the 90's!
I think the limitation in the amount of the characters in season one (and perhaps two?) was probably based on the amount of toys/action figures Mattel wanted to release at first while testing the waters before going deeper into the characters' and toy selection later on!
The show is a reimagining of the mythos, including characters, vehicles, environments and settings, so anticipate a lot of big changes from what you'd already know before watching! Goofy a little, yes, but it's fun.

I watched 3 episodes today. It is definitely better than MOTU Revelation! The show is not quite my cup of tea, but I do think kids will like this one. The writing (and the jokes) are certainly better than anything in Revelation. The characters are likeable. I won't buy the toys, but I will check out the whole series.

I will buy the Trap-Jaw figure for display, and the vehicles and the playsets to use for Origins... If Man-E-Faces or any other cyborg make it into the line I might get those as well!
