Last month, it was being reported that Sony Pictures had a wish-list of directors that they wanted to for their upcoming Masters of the Universe movie. It is now being reported by The Wrap that Sony is now considering three other Directors to helm the project. Here is the list of the current frontrunners for director:
1. Harold Zwart (Director of the recent Karate Kid remake, and Mortal Instruments: City of Bones).
2. Mike Cahill (Director of Sundance favourites Another Earth and I Origins).
3. Chris McKay (Editor and Animation/Co-director on The LEGO Movie, and one of the key-creative forces on the hit TV series Robot Chicken).
Nobody had been signed yet to direct the film, and other directors are still up for consideration at this time. Mattel is also involved with the movie: Julia Pistor and David Voss will executive produce on behalf of the company. Sony execs Hannah Minghella and DeVon Franklin will oversee the film project for the studio. A decision on who will direct the film is expected to be made in the next month.
